I think cosplay is getting more and more attention in Korea, actually.

I was watching the sitcom 'Kokkiri' (Elephant) and there was an episode where a young man's mom followed him everywhere and to embarass her, he convinced her to go cosplaying in public with him. She as a two-faced witch with cloak and he as a shiny satin Goku from Dragon Ball Z.

And there was a drama (can't remember the name... it should be about a year or two old though) where the main female lead went to a convention dressed as Maya from Magna Carta: Crimson Stigmata. :3

But yeah i see what you mean, even in dramas they're focusin' on it even more.

I'm active too. I'll be going to AWA 08. I MAY be able to go to AX 09, not sure if I'll have enough funds after my trip to asia that summer.

I'm located in S. Florida. Practically no koreans here, either that or I don't socialize enough with Koreans.

for 2008... the only one left is Anime Evolution.
2009... Sakura Con, Anime North, Anime Expo, Otakon, Ai Kon, Anime Evolution, Anime Expo Tokyo, JumpFest, Comiket.

o Ao the reason my thing has the Japanese flag is because I can understand and speak it (because my family speaks jap - but we mainly speak korean since we are originally koreans)

Its not that i dont see korean cosplayers its just 99% of the time I pretty much go D8 oh i didnt know you were korean.. hence why i rarely see em...

Went to Anime Expo 09 a month ago.

I live in South California, OC area. About a hour from LA?

I reeeally want to do a Korea from Hetalia. Sure, Korea's been all angry by the 'OMG HETALIA IS AN INSULT TO KOREANS' issue, but I think Hetalia's genius, and if anyone should be getting mad, it should be Italy, they come as the most stupidest country in there.

Yes, I am Korean, but I can't really cosplay anymore because...you know,Asian parents >.<

My family and I went to LA the week during Anime Expo (Which I didn't go. I stayed in Koreatown the whole time ;~ and while my dad was driving, he saw a Rikku cosplayer and a Yuna cosplayer walking across the streets and he was like, "what are they wearing!?!!" XDD So then I explained to him what cosplay was and he was like, "oh..Ok..Don't wear costumes like that, okay!?!" XDD

And yes, cosplay is having some attention in Korea. I watched a tv show with wierd couples and one of the couples had a woman who cosplays X33 I saw a Lavi cosplayer!
