Sorry to resurrect a dead thread but I have a couple of questions regarding Zidane.
1- What kind of wig should I use? This is all I could find for reference shots. http://zidane.peach-arrow.net/media/...dir=fmv&page=1 And if it does need trimming, how would I cut it to make it more layered? 2- Does anyone have a reference photo of Zidane's Ultima weapon. Thanks!

But yeah, I'm actually in the same boat. I used my real hair for the last time I was Zidane. This time, I will need to go the wig route because I had to cut it for career-related stuff. I'll need to locate my old save file where I did get the Ultimate Weapon.

Styling could be done with layering scissors or a razor..or regular hair scissors for that matter cutting in angled motions. I found a youtube video showing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNYzOpSUE4U 2) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ti/weapon1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ti/weapon2.jpg Hope this helps ![]()

For the Ultima weapon, I'm thinking of using metallic paint and glaze to make the diamond like blades shine. I'll probably make the base out of foam and wooden dowel rods. Should that do okay?

I'm so excited x3 I'm working on my Garnet costume, though waiting forever for the fabric for the body suit to come in =P I've started the shoecovers and have basically everything else I need. But that...(the body suit)...sort of comes first =P
I've always adored Garnet's wardrobe, an I would do anything to get my boyfriend to do Zidane x3 That'd just be too cute. Perhaps I've gotten a little googley from using the same screenname with the characters in it for so long but -shrug- Whatevs =P I love Freya too, but I don't think I'm tall enough to pull that off decently @.@;;;

When making your bodysuit, be mindful of the 'WTF' seam lines that go around upper part. Also, the shirt is kinda strange because it has the gathering around the square neckline in the front but the back is smooth with a couple buttons.

Thanks for the pointers x3 I've been going over like ninety different cosplay costumes (including yours
) as well as watching the cutscenes lykwoah over'n'over as well as drawing out everything I can x3 By the "WTF seams" you're talking about--these? http://img395.imageshack.us/img395/459/wtfseamswh5.jpg And since I've noticed the shirt is so friggen weird...some people's have the shoulder of the shirt show on the inside of the jumper arm when they wear it, sometimes I'll bet it falls off the shoulder, sometimes you can see where it goes beneath the bodysuit...I was thinking of just sewing the damned thing into the suit. xDD Yes, I'll put the smooth and the buttons in the back, but that'll be sewed to the back...the sleeves will be sewed to each arm hole...the front sewed into the front...and then the whole thing has friggen bias taping all over the edges, so it'll cover the stitches. Do you think that would work? Since the front is gonna be elasticy, I don't imagine I'll have any troubles getting into it. Edit; I've been wondering if anybody actually did the back like that. I'm gonna go for it, but I've just been curious. Specially since nobody has a picture of their back! ;P

Zidane's Hair
I KNEW I've seen this back view of his hair before :3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwKxl27H6iQ At about 0:13 there's a GREAT view of the back of his head that you don't find in pictures online. =] Best of luck! ![]()

With my shirt, I made it so the sides of the square neckline were tucked under the straps. I sometimes put some safety pins in there to hold them there.
With the gathered/smooth part what I did was put the elastic through all of it...then I sewed on the seams of the shirt through the elastic, removed it from the back and then made an inconspicuous little pleat on the top of the shoulder that was covered by the shoulder strap. The buttons on mine are fake as I just folded the fabric and sewed the buttons on there. And Yes those are the WTF seams I was talking about...which for mine I just made the torso like an inch and a half too long and folded the fabric over. Symetry is of course vital. My fabric was a jersey knit so there's nothing I can really add on the stretchiness though I would be careful with sewing the shirt to it...Sewing non stretchy to stretchy rarely works out but then again it could be difficult not to get the lines of the shirt to show through the bodysuit so I can understand a concern there.

Ooohh that's a very creative way of doing that!! x3 nice job :3
I was thinking of putting the upper seam in that way, and putting piping in the lower seam :3 I'll give it a shot, and if it doesn't work, then I'll just bite the bullet and make the shirt separate xD I lose all of what, 6 dollars for the white fabric I picked up. No worries. Thanks so much for the advice!!!! ![]()

I've always thought of doing something from IX but I can't seem to figure out people's heights with the character designs in the game. I'm a huge fan of freya and amarant, but I never thought to cosplay them because it seems like they should be at least 6' 6" compared to the other characters, and I'm nowhere near that tall.

Is the height really that much of an issue...? I mean I know people like to be cannon, but doesn't your personal enjoyment of a character mean a bit more than just how tall they are?
Especially with 9, since the proportions are all skewed stylistically. Most of the characters would probably pan out to be 4 foot something IRL xD
