Ichigo conats!

This may be off topic seing how i dont actually own them, just looking for everyones opinion!

I plan on cosplaying hollow ichigo at AX this year but im having a hard time finding his contacts for a reasonable price. I found them on cosplaylab but they were like 379! Ouch! I found some here that look like them (at least i think they do).

http://www.fxeyes.com/custom_lenses.html (the gizmo ones)

Do you guys think those would suffice, if not, anyone have any links to other cheaper alternatives?]

Thanks!

They seem fine to me. Do you need a Rx? if so I doubt you'll find anything cheaper in a sclera lens.

Cheaper isn't always better. There are a lot of things to take a cheap deal on but your eyes should never be one of them. Watch out for stores that don't deal in eye care, you run the risk of infection or ending up being sold expired lenses.

This will probably end up in Props or Makeup, contacts seem to have never been easy to place. XD

Scelra lenses never come cheaper than that. 9mm SFX doesn't charge extra for most prescriptions (barring torics and + or - 10.00 or greater). I couldn't find the shipping cost on the site you posted, but 9mm uses 2-3 Day shipping after it creates the lenses, and costs $20. I've had great experiences with 9mm SFX, and their scelra lenses can last some time with proper care. I know other contacts come at the same quality, but I've never dealt with FX Eyes before (though I have looked through their site) so I can't say for sure their quality, but they look pretty good.

Those seem like they would work. Just keep in mind that these are a major investment for a costume, and that sclera lenses aren't terribly comfortable. You also need a special prescription for sclera lenses because they cover your entire eye and have a different diameter and base curve than normal lenses. I've been getting regular contacts for years, now, getting my prescription updated each year, and I still needed to go in for a special exam to get the right prescription for a pair of sclera.

Why not just get some orange/yellow contacts without the black outer part? It won't be perfect, but I for one wouldn't mind seeing a Ichigo cosplayer without the perfect eye.
It would be cheaper, still look nice, more comfortable, and you can see easier.

Ok thanks for the reply everyone, now here is my next question!
I found these regular sized contacts that kind look like his eyes, not as cool as the sclera but eh, cheaper.

http://www.vampfangs.com/Raven-Lenses-p/fxraven.htm

I can probably use my girlfriends perscription to order them and just wear them because the eye doctor wants 89 bucks to do my contact exam! Should i try and just wing it and get these ones w/o having to go to the eye doctor or does everyone think its a must?

Your eyes are not your girlfriend's eyes. The doctor will not only be checking to see if your eyes are 20/20 but what the shape and contour of your eyes are.

Go ahead and try to go without, but as people on here know about me, I would never recommend it. If you value seeing well for the rest of your life, play it safe.

my boyfriend has those and though we haven't used them for an ichigo costume YET, he wears them more often then not and they definitely would work. and they definitely stand out in pics like NOBODY's business.
