Cosplay Eyebrows

Well, I did search for this topic, didn't pull anything, so I guess I'll make the thread.

What does everyone think about changing the color of your eyebrows for your cosplay. I'm not saying dyeing your eyebrows, but coloring them in some way. Do you all think it is something that should be done or shouldn't?

Because I've seen tons of cosplays where the whole eyebrow thing just throws it off, ya know? And since I'm completing the Hitsugaya bankai, I'm wondering whether or not I should do the eyebrows. Of course, this applies to any future cosplays I'm going to do, not just the Hitsugaya. So, thoughts on this would be helpful. Thanks.

Check out the Makeup Forum (http://www.cosplay.com/forumdisplay.php?f=82), there's loads of threads about colouring eyebrows (both how-to threads and discussions about when it's appropriate).

When I cosplay Sakura from Naruto Shippuuden I paint my eyebrows pink, but with my Roxas cosplay I leave them like they are since his hair is kind of a dark blonde and my eyebrows are dark anyway.

But sometimes people see my eyebrows and that's all they look at, it kinda distracts from the cosplay, but I do it for accuracy.

Nah, my eyebrows are rather red and most of my cosplays are redheads so I never bother.

Hmmm... is that good for turning black eyebrows blond? >.> I have some watercolor pencils but I've never ever thought of using them like that. If it could work for drastic color change like that, that would be awesome. Especially since I planned to use the white glue method. >.>

The first few times I ever cosplayed I didn't do it simply because I hadn't even thought about it and didn't know there was a way. Nowadays I do it always because it just looks better.

I typically use the $2 method if I'm wearing a oddly coloured or dark wig, but I'm working on a cosplay and the character has bleached eyebrows, so I'll be giving that a try this week.

It depends. I never coloured my eyebrows blue for Hanon (in avatar), I just darkened them with a brown pencil and they looked fine.
To be honest, when someone wears a bright, coloured wig and match their eyesbrows to it, it looks ridiculous sometimes, but I don't object to colouring your eyebrows, I just think if you are going to make them pink, orange and whatnot, making the colour a shade darker would look better rather than a bang-on match.
It also looks silly when people use the glue-colouring method (don't know what it's called), but it makes people's eyebrows look matted.

However, on the other side of the spectrum, someone wearing like a pink wig with black eyebrows look pretty silly also. I just think there needs to be a compromise?

I personally find those very bright coloured eyebrows kinda odd. Even if your character had bright blue eyebrows it doesn't mean the necessarily look good in real life. If I had a character with red or blue eyebrows, I would make them dark red/blue instead, because it looks much more natural and that way your eyebrows don't steal the attention from your costume. :T For white haired characters I would use grey instead of white (unless you're lucky and have naturally light eyebrows) because pure white eyebrows never look natural, in my opinion.

I don't really do it, personally. I think it looks good sometimes (though other times it just looks silly) but I'd never colour my eyebrows brightly to match a bright wig or anything.

I only did it once to make my eyebrows black for my Jane Crocker cosplay since the wig really focused on my face and made them look weird being brown. The grey facepaint I use for trolls seems to make my eyebrows kinda black or darker on it's own.
