Quick question about NYCC tickets

This is a real quick question (and maybe a bit noobish sounding so please excuse me).

I just went on to buy tickets for the upcoming NYCC in October for my friend and I just this morning. And to my surprise, a lot was sold out already (saturday, sunday, 3 day, etc). Thursday and Friday were still there (I'm a bit confused here as well.I couldn've sworn Thursday was only for press?).

So thankfully I got 2 tickets for Friday (I've gone on Friday twice in the past and so I wanted to try going Saturday for once but I guess I'll try that for next year).

So my question is, when do NYCC tickets usually go on sale? It seems like they go awful fast (almost like that Big Bang Theory episode where they're trying to get tickets for SDCC and hitting refresh like crazy and still dont get tickets).

It seems to be a thing this year. The multi-day tickets all sold out within minutes of going up, and the Saturday tickets went soon after. The NYCC website has a list of retailers who have not sold their tickets yet. You should follow them on Facebook/Twitter/etc. to find out when they go on sale. That's what I'm doing. If I can snag a 3-day pass, I'll sell my Friday pass to cut my losses.

The planning phase is over, the time for action has arrived! Talk to me like someone who is more eager than studious, but HAS done his research outside of his questions! The next challenge is to make the armor look like leather, or to make the pouch!

NEXT RANK: Add padding/styling to shoulder armor OR make the leather card pouch

Awesome, thanks saltpeter! Turns out theres a comic retailer near me that doesnt start selling tickets til July 20th so I'm gonna see if I can get a Saturday pass.
But I guess nobody knows when NYCC tickets went on sale? Maybe mid-June? I guess next year I'll just keep checking on their website daily.

They went on sale mid-June, yeah. There was an announcement and an email that went out.

Ah, thanks much, irishattherock. I guess I'll put an alert on my calender for next year. I also subscribed to the newsletter so hopefully I will get an alert in time to buy tickets.
Thanks for all your answers guys!

I didn't get notice. D: Whatever newsletter needed subscribing, I didn't do it. ._. But still, it sold out in minutes, so even if I was waiting, it would've been so unlikely. D:

I started going in 2012 and tickets have sold increasingly faster as the years go on. next year will most likely be a madhouse when tickets go on sale.
