This thread is simply for organization's sake, since it's already been brought to attention there are some people who want to specifically participate in one dating game or the other, though this is by no means meant to discourage people from going into both games--infact, it's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that people participate in both, since we've been able to secure longer times for the panel rooms, and well, it'll be fun!

But before we get this show on the road, some little general rules need to be layed out rather fast, as thefinal has informed me that AnimeFest is VERY much taking a chance on this, and we'd like to have a chance at this again...

UPDATE:
*We will only accept volunteers until Saturday, August 23rd. If you do not get your request to us by then, unfortunately you will not be participating.

*thefinal has graciously made a new webpage donated to the game! Please visit it for NEW RULES, THE QUESTIONS (if you haven't received them) and OTHER NECESSITIES.


* Sign-up is literally THROUGH this THREAD. Please comment on it, check your PM box, and answer the following questions. This way you're GUARANTEED a spot, and we're able to provide you vital information. Just POPPING up that night won't cut it if you're looking to be in a participant.

Inuyasha: Unfortunately I still cannot allow new hosts for this act as well. I deeply apologize for this but this is something that was somewhat mandated by myself as well as my higher management and the management in charge of the panel rooms. If for any reason in the future that one of the co-hosts decides that they will not partake in the act/game, then I can put you down as a co-host. But at the time being, technically we have 3 "announcers" as it is, which I personally feel might even be a little too much.

shiri_tori: the hour prep time is somewhat optional. More realistically, if anyone needs to rehearse, which we need to have a mini-rehearsal, this might have to take place BEFORE cosplay. PST...lol, edit the last paragraph. The panel is set aside for 11p-1a on Saturday night. We have roughly 30 minutes prep, because I'm going to have it down in the books as 11:30pm for start time.

Oh! Got a question! So its going to be after the cosplay saturday... does that mean in the BIG room where the cosplay is going to be at? Or in a sepperate room?

To answer your first question, yes, you could still have the option of carrying around Round 1, 2, 3 cards and etcetera. However, if you anticipate doing this, as long as you don't mind constructing them yourself, you would be able to walk around the room and basically display it. I have no idea how many rounds we are having though, and keep also in mind that I'm going to have a "screened" area where you cannot see the contestants this year, so you would just need to make sure to retreat there once walking the floor in case you're picked for that round. Hope that makes a little more sense.

As for your second question - hahaha, I WISH I could get it approved for our huge ballroom upstairs but we are looking at another panel room again. So, we're looking at a completely separate room. There will be more details to follow regarding that since there could be some of us changing before the event. But possibly in the future, I might be able to score us the stage and we can have it in our ballroom/event room, but there would have to be a large attraction to this event and I can get a headcount of people that attended the event and see if that might qualify us for bigger rooms. For now though, gotta stick with what I can get :P It's already good enough that they're allowing me to go through with this.

Well I was just wondering since it is after the cosplay contest right? or am I wrong? That would be awsome if we could get the stage/ballroom.. but yeah we get what we get!

To Inuyasha: That's great! If you want to make the rounds cards go all for it hun! Promote thyself! *ahem* Back on topic, this event is held AFTER the cosplay contest. We are anticipating it ending at latest, 10:30pm. However, there is not scheduled time for it to end but I've talked to guest/services manager and she's doing her best to make sure the department manager of the cosplay show ends the cosplay around 10p-10:30p.

A note to all contestants that might need to change after cosplay: the panel itself won't start until 11:30pm and extend until 1am. If you need to change, I'm accommodating arrangements for that. We will have the room available to us BEFORE the cosplay show, so as long as staffing permits, your items can be secured in the room so that once done with cosplay, we will have an area that you can change. Only contestants will be permitted in the panel room once cosplay has ended up until the beginning of the panel. I'm intending basically on separating changing areas and if I can create a .jpg/.gif/.png, I will post what it is the panel room might look like (I'm going based off the one we had last year). If you feel uncomfortable about changing in the panel room itself, then just keep in mind I really need you to be at the panel room BY 11:25pm. If this isn't met, there's a possibility you cannot participate. The goal of this year is to make sure that the audience doesn't get to view the contestants as they enter the room besides the co-hosts. So please keep that in mind if you decide not to change in the room.

For rehearsal: The basic option might be either Friday night we will need to get together in order to have a mini-rehearsal, or, I will have the panel room available BEFORE cosplay begins, which if we can fit in a 30 minute rehearsal whether you're in cosplay or not, I would really like to do so. If you have photoshoots right before cosplay show or something that is keeping you from attending rehearsal, please contact shiri_tori so her and I can keep in touch on this matter and find a resolution.

I'm interested in being a participant, but I'm a bit nervous about it. Mostly, I'm afraid I'll suck at it. XD But I'm willing to give it a shot! I mean - if I do it as Aya/Ran, all I really need to do is sit there and act moody and silent and maybe make subtle comments involving assassinating the person asking me questions. LOL. So yeah, I'm interested.
Do we need to show you our picture IDs before the con even comes around, or is it okay to show them when we get there? I have one, but I have no working scanner and therefore no way of showing it ahead of time. X3;

DeadlySerenade: IDs WILL need to be presented at the door. I can tell you, I'm intending on being the "bouncer" and the only way to get in is if you cosplay.com/AnimeFest Forum name and real name is on the list. If you need a friend with you to carry ID, make accommodations to do so. If you left your ID in the panel room itself/personal belongings to change for any reason, then as long as on the list, I will escort you in and you may show me your ID. However, to speed up this process, those that arrive before the cosplay show for any sort of quick rehearsal or to store items, you will be presenting your ID then, and trust me, I won't forget who you are, so that way when you come back from the cosplay show, we don't have to go through the ID process for the contestants.

EDIT: Since in the first post for this thread we state that you must show ID, I'm trusting that everyone involved is truly 18+. If they get to the door and have an insufficient/fake ID, then they cannot participate.
