DX this is scaring me so much.
I'm making her wig, (stubbing and all) and it's my first wig ever, so it might turn out...badly. XD
I still don't know what I'm going to do for the light up things, but I'm considering just going around the house and finding electronics and stuff with lights that we don't use. EL wire/tape whatever looks really cool, but I want to avoid spending any more money if I can ~__~
Also, does anyone know how to make a tie? I'm nervous about that.

Hey all you Vocaloids!

I just wanted to pop by and say that I am nearly done my Miku costume.

For the details on the skirt I painted craft foam with various colours (neon yellow, metallic red, and neon blue) then applied them to the skirt with double sided tape. It look pretty cool I think, and it is a pretty simple solution
*wishes that i could make them light up somehow*

I also added the four blue dots on the boots with craft foam.

I'll post again once I have photos up

How is everyone else coming along with their costumes?

I've gotten my shirt tamed! It's acting wonky and being really tight in the bust (my boobs are small! what the heck!), but if I undo a button, it's okay.
So, I can figure out a way to fix it.
My wig is cooperating, but I haven't been working with her much.
And I'm finally starting my skirt!
Oh, and I found an old piece of fabric to use for my tie, so I don't have to go shopping. Woo.

It's been a while since anyone has posted on this thread and its already on page 4 on the Other Costumes thread. What has happened?

Anyways, I'm on the planning process for my Vocaloid Cosplay beginning with the ever popular Miku Hatsune, I'm planning on doing Haku when I finish Miku. :3

By the way! A question I have had for a while now, for Miku's wig would it be recommandable to buy a full lenght (45"-48") light blue/turqouise wig and make the pig tails or search for a short wig and stub pigtail extensions?

yay yay Vocaloid Cosplayers!!! i doin Hatsune Miku going to the Masquerade Ball. i went to one at Anime Expo and decided next year's AX, I want to try and compete. I've so far found were to get a wig and contacts. And a sewing pattern to alter/mess around with. can't wait to get the fabric and start it.

I just ordered the wig, went with a light blue turqouise 48" long wig with no bangs. Hope it goes well.

Doh, true. Forgot to mention the wig I ordered is for Miku xDDu

Yep! Yowane Haku is a fanmade Vocaloid that represents people who are too impatient in using Hatsune Miku's voice an in the end they get sad (almost) drunken sounds. Thus Haku was born with a sake in hand and a depressed expresion

EDIT: Well...its been some days, I got a bunch of sites for EL Tape and EL Wire and other bunch of EL materials...though while I sat down and though about what would be good to use for each assortment of accesories and the cost I found out it might be a bit expensive..

For the following it would be needed
-Soldering items
-AA Battery convertors
-EL Tape (Aqua) [Shirt/blouse-Sleeves-collar]
-EL Tape (Yellow) [Sleeve-Headphones]
-EL Wire (White/Yellow) [Sleeve]
-EL Sheet (Red) [Headphones]

And while browsing the sites that offer EL products or they are to expensive or they don't have an online shop.

So, if anyone else is interested for light up effects.

EDIT 2: I found leftovers of black pleather from a FF cosplay that's done. I might use it for a mock up of Miku's sleeves and skirt : D

Also, I ordered from Jlist.com one of their joke leek items :3 its so cute! I hope it's on its way to the post office.

Checked on Miku Wig's shipping process this morning and found that it's at LV at the time being. Can't wait D:

I just got an email from jlist for my leek, turns out the San Diego distribuitor isn't shipping from their USA HQ but directly from japan and it might take from 2 to 4 weeks to arrive. I only have those 4 weeks to work on my cosplay.

1. That wig is WAY to blue for Miku.
2. You need to start with a shoulder legnth wig-part it-stub it and add extensions, or a short base wig with extensions.
