Suggestions for a newb, have lots of fabric
Okay, to date, all of my costumes have been remarkably simple closet cosplay or costumes that do not require much, if any, sewing. However, I've gotten to a point where I am both a) kind of embarassed I don't have any sewn costumes and yet I call myself a cosplayer and b) am done trying experimental techniques to make mind-crushingly complicated projects such as armor.
Ergo, after Anime Expo, I have decided to take up sewing as a hobby. I purchased several yards each of red, black, and white broadcloth, some heavy white pants cloth, and some... thing thats more black (has a texture like shimmery broadcloth). I plan to get a sewing machine when my stimulus check arrives and already know how to operate one (threading the bobbin has always been my Achilles' Heel).
Thusly, I need some help finding a simple costume, male or female, it doesn't matter, that wears colors like those I have mentioned. I just want something to sharpen my sewing skills with. I don't care what series, whether or not the character is popular, or what size they are, as long as it isn't too complicated.
Thanks in advance.
I'm a U.S. Navy Sailor. I also make costumes sometimes. Probably more often, now that Uncle Sam pays me well.
I cosplayed Thane Krios and have a fondness for projects that are way over my head.
