Color Enhacment

Hello all, I am currently working on my costumes for ACen 2004 (I know....lamer) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows a good way to add color enhancment ie streaks, tone, color strips to wigs made from synthetic fibers. I was thinking of using Manic Panic gel dye but would it be permenant or would it wash away if i were to wash the wig...if anyone has any suggestions please let me know

Probably color hair spray or those temporary hair streaking... chunk (that stuff that comes on a comb??) I think those might wash out...

For really vibrant effects, you can use loose hair in the color you want and attach it at the roots with a heat sealer (available from www.drlocks.net under "accessories"). Manic Panic probably won't work so well, because wig hair is plastic. But if you want to add colored streaks to a light colored wig you could try the marker or acrylic paint methods.

Painting streaks in works really well too..I sprayed normal spraypaint <silver> onto a brush and low/high lighted Baralai easily..^^

Best of all it doesnt come out on your hands, smell, look crusty or even take alot of time!

But yeah, I think spray paint should work if you are using synthetic hair. Id just make sure you dont spray way too much. Also if you need to style it, spike it funny or put up in a ponytail, bun, etc, Id do that first before painting.
