Prospective skirt help please?
i got this fabric the other day, i thought it went well with my hoardes of cream lace, so i'm looking into making a skirt with it. except the problem is, i can't seem to figure out a pattern/style to make it. i want the entire outfit to be cream/antiquey blue so i'm also hunting for some blouses. i scanned some of my doodles up, which are for the most part, some of the most common types of lolita skirts. i'm not going for any particular style, but i'd like it to be kind of frilly and ruffly. so i'd like to have some opinions on what i should do for the skirt, please, and maybe a blouse to go with it, if possible.
for the shirt i was thinking something along the lines of this or this or even like BtSSB blouse 132 404 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ another thing (sorry for the long and confusing post ;___;) i made a jumper the other day and i was wondering if i could get some critique on it because i'm proud of it and stuff, but i'm not sure if it's "lolita". i have a petti somewhere and i currently lack a head acessory for this dress. i took the picture with it on my bed so it looks a bit flat, sorry. pic1- skirt designs pic2- possibly what i want for the skirt and the top pic3- a swatch of the fabric, scanned, but lace is cream...stupid scanner =___= the lace is about 2 inches long, btw pic4- the jumper for critiquing :D again, thank you in advance-i'm not sure if i was all that clear :D

I just wanted to say I LOVE the fabric you picked out. It is very darling.
Also I like the jumper, it looks lolita to me but then again I am very new to lolita. But if your jumper came out that good I am sure what ever pattern you choose to do for your skirt with the blue fabric will come out just as nice. Last edited by simplechestnut : 07-17-2008 at 11:22 PM. |

for the jumper, it looks quite good but a little but un-blanced, if you know what i mean. i think it needs something more around the hem. something like this
http://www.angelicpretty.com/shoppin...j-2340/pnk.jpg with lace then a ruffle. i made a crappy ms paint edit for you, hah http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...g?t=1216356671 i think that it makes it a little more balanced to look at, and breaks up a bit of those overwhelming polka-dots.

personally i think it would be cute with a sidebow or a double sidebow. but this design of dress is quite classic and you could really wear whatever you want with it, except maybe a circle headdress.
