Agito's "forest" arm? (what would Allen Walker Cosplayers do?)

Nearing the finish line with my Agito (not Air Gear; Origins) costume. The last thing to work on: When Agito goes slightly berserk (as opposed to totally berserk, when he turns completely into a tree), his right arm gets all green and gnarly. I'm on break at my work right now and don't have the various screen captures I've made showing this; I'll post them later.

I've been experimenting with a 2-yard strand of fake ivy, wrapping it around my arm (again, pictures to come later). It looks . . . okay. It'd be a bit interpretive because Agito's monster-arm is a bit more like "Swamp Thing" than what my ivy-arm looks like.

I'm wondering if I should buy some green skin paint from Mehron. Then I've also been collecting those big strips of birch bark that shed off and maybe I could spirit-gum them to my arm.

Thing is, my arm is still going to be my arm: It won't be huge and monster-y like Agito's.

What do Allen Walker people do for his monster-arm? A mere glove isn't going to cut it because Agito has no sleeves.

Just to be clear, because while the video was cool it didn't show him actually with the forest arm... Is that big green leaf-dragon thing with the red eyes his forest arm? If so I would say to make a basic shape that would sit on your wrist that looks like the dragon's head, decorate it with fake ivy and birch bark strips and the like, and THEN wrap up the rest of your arm. You could actually put the head on a glove, and then do something like put stick claws on the glove so it doesn't just look like a hand.

Working off what you've shown, here! I have no idea what the arm looks like if the leaf dragon wasn't it.

OKay, I might have an answer to my own question: What if I got a rubbery latex monster glove from a pair like these and spray-painted it green? Is spray-paint going to flake off something flexible? I see contradictory definite yes and definite no answers on other forums.

Yeah, the spraypaint will flake off. You could make it out of green cloth, and then find a way to make that root system on top of it... I've seen something like that done before, but with Gaara's half-Shukaku form.

well, i don't know how well it works, but i know they make this fusion spray paint, that supposedly bonds to the plastic, it may not chip off, but i'm not sure

I'll ask at A.C. Moore or someplace about the spray paint, so let's shelve that one for now. How about fabric paint? Would it apply and dry on a rubber glove?

Maybe try latex spray paint? I've had good luck with it before on fabric.

Wow. That's very impressive but also looks like a lot of work. I'm looking for something a little more low-overhead.
