ack i thought so. so i guess ill try some ace bandages over it then.

Ah, thank you! Using two like that will probably work, though I think I may be ace bandage retarded ^^;;

I use two, and I'm a C cup. ._. And I tied the first one fairly well, then the second one, but by a couple of hours my chesticles were poppin' out. xD And I didn't get that seriously flat. So I was wondering if a Sports bra would help at all? Or would it make me less flat?

Well, one thing you could try is, when you're wrapping, pull the bandages up in the back, as high as you can. I know that when I first started crossplaying *coughlastyearcough*, I was having the exact same problem.

Technically he's only like three inches tall but who cares, I think the kids will like my big bug hat.
Well even though my shirt will be a modified maternity shirt (with a t shirt underneath because they don't like sleeveless things here at our job) I still don't want Issun to have man-boobs. So I planned to tape it all down. As a 36 B I'm pretty confident that I can pull it off. A buddy of mine at work swears up and down that I will fail miserably. He's bet me 20 dollars I can't get my chest flat. Thanks to this thread I think I'm going to win ^.^
That sounds awesome, good luck! Be sure to post pictures afterwards.

I tried bandages for a while, but I think I've finally found the easiest binding method. Most lingerie stores sell elastic "tummy tuck" corsets - simple white (or light pink) slimming undergarments with one or two baleens that you can wear to reduce your stomach. My solution? Wear them a few inches higher. Instant bind, no hassle, fully adjustable and will 100% stay on. Walking, breathing and even bending down isn't a problem, and after a few hours I didn't even notice I was wearing it anymore.

I hadn't really tested it in advance, but I ended up crossplaying 2 full days at Abunai 2007, and turned my 75Cs into a pretty damn natural looking male chest. Even the price wasn't a problem; I spent E12,50 on the thing, and I'll probably be using it for the next few years.

I got the double fronted compression vest from Underworks http://www.underworks.com/996.html and here are my results. Just to clarify, I'm a D cup, and tape didn't do all that much for me.

Before

After
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/Carveus/after.jpg

I managed to get a little flatter as well after I tucked a bit. Yeah, there was still some boobage, But it blended in enough with my chest for me to get away with it.

That, and I'm gonna be Reno, so loose shirt, yay!

Heyy! So I have a question ... I'm like ... a DD I think I may be a little bigger .. And I'd really like to crossplay, cause it's just so much more fun XD

But anyway, I've tried just like ... flattening my chest with my hands and it just didn't look right to me ... Like two big weird smushed bumps ... I don't know ... Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just hopless? Because if it looks like that, I would rather just not try to make them look flat.

Also, when you do wrap, you wear a bra right?

well, honestly, I think us DD's only have one really good option, and that's compression shirts. Some have found other ways, but this seems to be the most effective, albeit a bit on the expensive side.
I know you don't wear a bra with compression shirts, but I'm not sure about wrapping. I've seen people do it both ways, I'd say whichever way works best for you.

There's one thing I've learned does not work: scarves. Last time I crossplayed, the only binding material I had on hand was a scarf, and it wouldn't stay put. Not to mention it was uncomfortable.

I think I bound too tight last night and bruised myself. Should I just buy a compression shirt? I am a large c and use 3 3" ace bandages.. My Mom is a nurse and she told me that binding could cause pnumonia if I leave them on too long. Is that true?

If your mother's a nurse, then I'm sure there's some truth to it, though I've never heard anything like that. Whatever you believe, you do need to be careful, because it is possible to hurt yourself if you bind too tight. I have a compression shirt that works pretty well, but they're a bit on the expensive side.

I don't know about pneumonia in particular, but it IS possible to seriously hurt yourself by wrapping too tight or too long. Minor injuries like bruising or blistering are not uncommon; I also know of people who have cracked ribs and/or had trouble breathing (which leads to passing out) from too much compression. In theory, if your breathing pattern is sufficiently affected, I suppose pneumonia could develop... but I would think it would take a really long time -- considerably more than the few hours most people tend to stay in costume.

Whatever method you use, the most important thing is to make sure your ribs can still flex, and you can still breathe normally. If you wrap too tightly, you'll restrict your breathing and movement and compress the cartilage between your ribs. This can be painful in both short- and long-term.

I'm a C as well; I have tried ACE bandages, sports tape, and a t-kingdom breast binder with varying success (skip back a couple of pages to my binder review and you can see photos of each method I've tried). Of the three, the binder is by far the least restrictive and the least uncomfortable. It's also the fastest and easiest to get in and out of. It costs a bit more, and it doesn't get me *quite* so flat as the bandages did... but on the other hand, I can wear it without being in pain, so I'll happily take the tradeoff.

Oh, it can. I was once in a show in which I had to wear a strapless bra under a certain costume; the bra failed, I had to use duct tape in a pinch, and... yeah. I will never put duct tape on my body again.
