The one I bought was at underworks.
It's called a tri-top, size M and it was only $35. I don't know any other places..,..underworks is a really good place for binders

Ah I was wondering...
I am going to try to do a Len Kagamine crossplay this year. Since his shirt is basically a t-shirt, is it really worth binding? I'm not all that large 36B maybe... I could most likely get my hands on some ACE but I've never tried binding before. So, is it worth it at all? :/

Hi everyone! Sorry if this is a dumb question but this is my first time ordering a compression shirt. I'm getting one from Underworks and I don't know what size to get. I know the sizes are divided up by chest size but do I order the one of the chest size I have naturally or the chest size I want to accomplish after binding? Thanks everyone! You're a big help.

So I am crossplaying a few male characters (one of these characters is muscular and probably has a 6 pack) and I tried the Ace binding technique. Lets say it did not work so well.

Does anyone know what I could probably be doing wrong? I just put on a sports bra then wrapped the bandage around my chest but I let it a bit loose so I can breathe. I am a 36-38 A-B. Any ideas?

It'll have to be a little tight to help hold you down. The only suggestion I can give you is to bind 'til you're flat at home for a few hours and practice breathing "correctly" i.e. from your diaphragm. I'm going to hazard a guess here that you haven't been trained musically so when you breath your chest moves instead of your stomach. If you've ever watched a baby breathe their stomach is what moves. Somewhere in the process of growing up we stop breathing like this.

To get what I mean lie down on your back, place a hand on your stomach, and take a deep breath. If it doesn't really move then you're breathing with your chest. If you can train yourself to breathe with your stomach you'll be able to bind a bit tighter because you aren't relying on your chest expanding. Honestly I don't have any suggestions on how to go about training yourself like that because I really don't remember how I was taught to. :/

If you don't want to go through all that trouble (and I can't blame you for not) I guess just get it as tight as you can stand. If the costume consists of a loose-ish shirt your chest won't really be that noticeable. Heck, I crossplay Grell and the shirt's loose enough that no one has ever noticed my fail binding. Seeing as you're relatively small chested (no offense!) it won't take as much as you think to look flat. Remember to judging the flat-ness with a shirt on because the clothing will help hide some of the bump you've still got going on.

I was in Glee Club for 4 years xD; Being an alto is tough! Lol.
The thing is I did that as well (laying on my back while binding) and tested it out with my Grell cosplay, however it actually made my chest look bigger from the side. ^^; So I was wondering if I was doing anything wrong. I am not really worried about Grell but with Yami Marik...>_>; I might need to be as flat and manly as possible. lol
No offense taken! (-adores being flat chested-)

Yay for music nerds! I myself am a seven-year band nerd.

I googled the character and now I see why you want to be flat. Hmmmm perhaps try using the tape method and then bind over it. I've never tried the tape method so I can't say if this would be a good idea or not but it may be worth a shot. If you don't have any sports tape laying around and want to try it before you get any I'd think you'd be alright testing it with a super sticky masking tape. If you end up testing with duct tape be very careful when you take it off.

Ahh, Karisu-sama, teacher of binding, lol

Anyway, I was thinkin' I'd get the tri-top chest binder at underworks ( http://www.underworks.com/983.html ) but I was wondering how I'd measure for the right size? :0

Tritop is awesome. Take your bust measurement and average it with your underbust measuement.

What do you mean average it?

So basically measure the length across the breasts then under them? Then add them and divide?

I need some advice. So I really wanna buy the tri-top binder in the future when I can afford it but I'm only like 34 A-B, and I can flatten my chest with a sports bra a few sizes down. I tried one on in target and it was $20 and it got me completely flat. But I really want a proper binder, but I don't want to be wasting money.
Though I will prob wear it quite a bit for general crossdressing and when I want a flat chest, as well as all the crossplays in the future. It would end up costing me like $49 because of shipping to Australia.

Is it worth getting the proper binder?
Sorry for going on and on.

Since you're at that size, I'm sure you'll be fine with only a sports bra. I'm a 36C and my plain sports bra isn't cutting it, that's why I'm getting the binder. XD If you think you'll grow to a larger size, go ahead and get the binder later on in life. For now, the sports bras seem to be the cheapest and best choice.
