Umbreon Ears and Tail

Hello,

It's been a while since I've actually posted here... anyways. I'm making an Umbreon human cosplay and I need help with making ears and the tail of the Umbreon. I'm not sure how to do either of them and I need to make sure that the ears will be able to stay on my head. I'm not sure if this is possible but I'm willing to try almost anything.

If someone could help me that would be a BIG help! Thank you.

You could try crafts foam, but if you want something more durable and in turn, looks much more nicer, try this method.

Take some foam, often found at Jo Ann's or Wal-Mart, and shape it into Umbreon's ears. Yes, his ear does seem like a cone, but that idea will end up just looking like Pikachu. Instead, carve it to look like this:

After carving out the ear out of foam, (you can just use scissors for that), now its time for some fabricating. You can use a very short fur, but fleece can look just as well, since Pokemon usually do not look 'furry' looking. If you have a hard time getting a right pattern for it, (its actually an easy pattern but everybody can have some troubles time to time), ductape the ear, draw on the markings, in this case, the ring, and cut that the ductape in half. Then cut out the ring. There, instant pattern! Just transfer that to the fabric.

The tail is actually very simple. Again, it will probably look like the sketch I posted earlier. Just sandwich two pieces of fabric, including the ring, sew and stuff.

All I need to do is figure out a way to attach me tail. Since I'm going to be wearing a dress I don't want to harm it by making a hole in it... because that would be a big hole...

Its actually quite easy. At the end of the tail, add one or two 'belt loops', either with the same material you used on the tail or elastic. Then loop a belt inside the loop(s) and put on the belt. This is one of the most common ways to wear tails.

If you do not want to wear a belt, I've seen someone put a big elastic loop at the end of the tail, then slip that loop over their body and hide it under their shirt. Make sure that the elastic loop isn't too tight that it will hurt you though.

yes koisnake, but she is wearing a dress, so no long shirt to cover a belt.

though the concept isnt that bad of an idea. if you can spare a small hole in the dress, just make it big enough to pass a hook of some kind on said tail through to a belt/harness under your dress. if you absolutly cant do that, there always is the large safety pin you can use (though those always look funky when used)
