Help with kamina belt/sash

This is actually the first cosplay that I'm making with little help (A friend of mine is making the cape for me) But I'm trying for Kamina from Gurren Lagann. And i need suggestions on how to make his belt/sash. I know for most this is easy but I just wanna be sure i get this right.

here's a reference pic: http://media.photobucket.com/image/k...II/Kamina1.jpg

Once again Ty for the help

Get some white, fairly heavyweight fabric, and a couple packs of grommets (get the right color and size. And don't forget a tool.) Make the belt, then go to town on setting the grommets in. Do your best to get them straight. It's fairly simple, but it's going to be time consuming (and for the sake of ease, you may want to invest in the more expensive grommet setting pliers instead of the one you need a hammer for, since you're going to have to set so many.)

You might get lucky and find a belt like that in a store, but for accuracy's sake you might want to just make the thing.

You could use large eyelets. Sew up a long strip of fabric and use those. Just a thought, and I think it would look really nice.

Eyelet = Grommet. They're the same thing, basically.

You can find belts from military surplus stores that look exactly like that, but I'm not sure if they'd be long enough.
