There's still a bunch of other conventions in Florida that you guys can go check out. I never go to anything other than the main four though. For money and school reasons.
Understandable and I've looked them up some do look interesting I'm still trying to plan what to do after Ja and Metro.

Don't worry, it's easy to catch up (^__^) . Besides, we don't have the super-activeness everyday. We sometimes get our slumps.

Hey, me too.

Yeah, balancing college and cosplay is so tough. Less money and time.

So, after looking around on their websites, I'm thinking about going to Jacon instead of Metrocon. Metro's pretty rad, but I don't need that kind of financial nightmare right before Otakon.

Oh, I hope to see you and your son at ChibiPa, then (^__^) .

If you want to know about all the cons, and I mean ALL the cons, go here. I hear good things about Dragoncon and hope to be able to go to it someday.

Baltimore - so yeah, it's a regular vacation. Supposedly the biggest con on the east coast... I've heard a lot of good things about Dragoncon, but I've never been myself.

Don't worry, I didn't know either.

I am when I'm not in school. I think (from my skimming through past posts) my home base is actually quite close to NarukuSon.

Dragon*Con always seems cool. So I'm sure it's a pretty good con to go to. That and Comic-Con are the two out of state conventions I want to get to eventually.

Oh, nice! Thanks for the link!

Biggest con on the east coast, eh? Sounds like I might have to go. Argh, I better work more hours if I even want to try xD

I think I better just settle for....3, if possible. Dragoncon is definitely on my mind, and if not this year then next. San Diego is where I've wanted to go for the longest.

Haha, don't worry, I don't have the money for it either. Spreading the expenses over 6 months was a good plan. In a way it's too bad, because the chances of me meeting any of you this year is pretty slim.

Yeah managing money is hard when you have school etc. haha. I just hope I don't get hit with any unexpected expenses like I did last month so I can actually get my costumes done. I'll have to think about Dragoncon for next year I don't want to over book myself for this year. haha.

xD
I think I'll make a jar that will have the label "Con money only" and throw a few bucks in there now and then. That way I know I'll save more than originally intended...or maybe not >D

After browsing through the list of cons for the rest of 2009, how does everyone (in here) decide which one is the best to go to? Word of mouth? Some other reason? Besides what's within FL, I know some are smaller than others and traveling out of FL I'm sure you would want to pick what's best, but the thing is there are so many of them that it seems hard to decide--like if someone was new to all this or just getting started.

*tries again*

Okay, I believe your question is 'how do you decide on an out-of-state con'... correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, if I'm taking the time, money, and effort to travel out of state, it better be something epic. Since I dont have the money to fly out to Cali to see Samuel L. Jackson (comic con), I chose a big con on the east coast, Otakon. A good way to find out if it's big is if you see it or hear about it a lot or just look up the attendance of the con last year (and add a few thousand). I kept seeing 'Otakon' in people's signatures so I'm like 'I should check this out...' lol, that was probably no help at all, but I tried, I swear!

Actually it was my fault for not wording it correctly but yeah you answered (the question I should have asked) it just fine xD

Now, I wish time went a bit fast forward because the hype for any con at this point is getting to me
