Zelda: Link hat
Ok, I'm cosplaying Link as a costume for Halloween.
My problem is, I can't find a hat anywhere! Can someone point me in the direction of a good website that sells authentic cosplays? I don't want a cheap, crappy hat either. Thanks. : D

I haven't been able to find a good Link hat myself, so I turned to making it.

Hm, pretty sure any hat you buy from a cosplay website is going to be crappy. They just generally don't use quality material. Sorry. You're better off just making your own. Follow the link posted above by InkyLink to the Zelda Thread for further questions.

It depends on which version of Link you're doing, but I made a hat just by sewing two tall, skinny triangles of fabric together along the sides, leaving the bottom open. Just make sure that you measure your head (or head + wig) before you cut out the pieces. The open part should be a little bigger than the measurement of your head.

It really depends on what kind of hat you want because the hats change slightly. For me I did TP version. I posted a journal of it on Deviant art on my account narutokunobessed. If you are too lazy to look for it I ll type it here.
First off Measure around the head and then divide that by two. This will be the widith of the hat. I did my hat by mostly sewing two pieces together, because of those Extra lines of Twilight princess hat. But for Ocarina of Time, you will not need to divide by two. Add about 1inch so you have room to sew. Then measure from the end to how ever long you want the hat. Usually his hat goes about from the top of the head down toward the middle of your back. Then I bought like three yards of fabric for the tunic and hat, probably though you can go slightly less because its according to the height of hat. You don't have to be green, just make sure the type of fabric your getting matches the fabric according the picture and no shiny fabric. For twilight princess get slightly more then the width. Nowthe rest are pictures which I will put up later. Last edited by narutokunobsess : 10-08-2008 at 07:56 PM. |

I just wrote this tutorial today, so its a little messy.
Differences in TP hat from OofT hat: http://img511.imageshack.us/my.php?i...erencesqp3.jpg How to cut TP hat: http://img507.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tphatsz3.png About the Tp hat you could also use the OofT cut so the line isn't there. Just figure out how to cut that line at the end.
