Why not just get regular ballet shoes, not pointe shoes? You could choose from canvas or leather, and just add ribbons, if you really wanted to. They will do the trick either way. Clicky. Also, that site is trustworthy. I have bought from them before. Quote:
I would just wear regular ballet slippers if you are not up to the pain and just to be safe. I hope I helped you guys.

As long as I don't "mess up my feet forever" it's all good.
And I want to take Ballet anyway.. but I may be too old... ah well. Also I have other cosplays I plan to take with me to the cons, so I could change if the pain is too unbearable. Or buy both pointe shoes and regular kind. ![]()

Awesome! xD I mean it is all a matter of preference, and leather shoes take more time to break in. Also, I don't know how young you are, but if you are still growing I would buy canvas because it's cheaper, but I have a feeling you are older than that.
I'm so happy I could help you! ![]() Also, does anyone have any tips for what wig I should use for Tutu? It's her Swan Lake outfit, so her hair is short. I'm thinking I want a white wig... and then I could just color it with Sharpies. Any tips?

X_X I feel like such a bad person for temporarily abandoning this topic and then popping in to say...

Apparently I'm also going to have to be Femio at some point, thanks to Lady Saru. XD

Are you just doing his normal school uniform? I somehow got persuaded into doing his dance outfit with the paint splatters. xD I'm super pumped. Although, I do wish I could actually put my ballet experience to use, but Femio is supposed to be an awful dancer. |

I have done Ahiru and Fakir... neither of which I'm really happy with.
Tutu is on my to-do list, but she keeps getting bumped back until "I'm a better dancer..." It could be a while. On the shoe thing, I actually have those spilt-sole canvas shoes that were linked to (one of the Amazon links, though I got mine through Discount Dance), and I love them. They make my feet look so much nicer than leather ones. That could just be me, and since you're not actually dancing in them it probably won't make as much of a difference.

I'm halfway done with the shirt for my Fakir costume! And in only one night, too! So exciting! And my wig is pretty....it's black and green! I'm not sure if I should sharpie out some of the green to make it a little more muted though.
