I'd come up here being all "Is this all lolita and stuffles?" (Really bad grammar on purpose). However, I'm pretty sure I have it down. I'll come back later with pictures of my stuff though just for fun.

short and silly question ,. would these shoes (outside of being superexpensive) be considered lolita?

I think they would look fine with classic or gothic lolita, but would look out of place with sweet lolita. Even though they have a strap like maryjanes do, they're probably a little mature looking for some coordinates.

Was just wondering if this dress would be "Lolita correct". I was looking at the Bo Peep, but without the Bo Peep bonnet and maybe without the lace they have. I was going to put nice real lace at the bottom and maybe the sleeves. I was also thinking about modifying the sleeves to be long and maybe a little bit of a "bell" shape at the bottom. Still, even if I don't go with long sleeves, I still plan to put lace on them basically like in the photo.

Really, I was thinking of using a black for the major part of the dress and then darker (not super dark, more like a medium-dark) blue for the front.

Please let me know what you think. Thank you.

It looks like a pretty decent pattern for the general shape. You might want to add more width in the skirt, as you said, and I'd make the neckline more of a square. I'm not so sure about the idea of making the front panel a different color, it might look a little blocky. Here's some examples of similarly cut dresses from brands to give you some ideas: http://www.babyssb.co.jp/shopping/jumper/132263.html, http://www.rakuten.co.jp/moi-meme-mo...98150/1814960/, http://www.angelicpretty.com/shoppin.../82j-2378.html

It looks like you're on the right track so far! Although you might want to add some more details because the outfit is just a wee bit plain right now. (I'm not saying lolita is always over-the-top, but you could always add an extra detail like a ruffle at the skirt hem, for example.) I can't see what shoes you're wearing, but I like your headbow, and it looks like you got the basic shape right (a petticoat when you get one will really help with this). Does your skirt hit at around your knee? For some reason it seems a bit long, but that could just be the picture (and better to be a bit long than too short, I think!).

Like you said, it definitely needs a petticoat. And it looks okay, but it is very plain. You might want to spruce it up by adding on an obi-jime, the cord used around your obi, a floral pin decoration on the front of your obi or just a patterned obi, or wearing a colored under kimono top for a contrast. Maybe you could carry a furoshiki (traditional cloth wrap) purse, or a basket purse. I'd definitely add a necklace for detail at your neck, some rings and bracelets to round out the outfit with some jewelry. The picture is also too small and undetailed to see your lace, so, I can't comment on it's quality.

ahh ok thanks for all the advice. it comes to just about my knee, my body is longer than my legs so i had to make it abit longer to even out but i'm hoping it'll look better once i get the petticoat. yeah i thought it was abit plain too.i'm gunna try and get a petticoat soon =]. i'll add some pictures of the lace etc 2night when i get in 'cause the lace is really pretty, i think it's good quality but i could be wrong because this was my first attempt at aniything lolita related.
thanks :3

I was thinking of buying this EGL outfit, but my brother says that it is just "A wanna be Gothic Lolita". :/ Is this outfit acceptable in Lolita clothing?

Its a coat, blouse, and skirt.

I LOVE that jacket! The jacket and choker works well for EGL. But the dress is not Lolita, however it can become that with a petticoat under and a skirt and corset over, cause it looks kinda underwear-ish. I don't think it looks like Wannabe EGL, just unfinished. ^_^

I agree. The dress is a LITTLE shiny, but the whole outfit is adorable (good for Loli-inspired with the dress, IMO). The choker and jacket are great for EGL, and you can definitely make the jacket work with EGA, as well!!

The dress wouldn't be lolita no matter how much you altered it because it's made out of a non-lolita material, I'm sorry to say. It's not a little too shiny, it's made out of satin, which is a huge lolitas faux pas. The jacket also wouldn't be suitable for aristocrat either, due to the huge gromits used on the front, the lacing, and the cheap lace used on both the dress and jacket. The jacket also uses balloon sleeves, which really don't suit aristocrat at all (I'm relatively certain this is made from a commercial jacket pattern slightly modified). That store doesn't carry anything suitable for lolita. The only things suitable for aristrocrat might be the men's shirts, if worn by men or in the male aristocrat style. I'm afraid your brother is right.

Thank you for your input.

Also, as for M4622, I was also thinking about adding sleeves from the dress photoed below:

Or, I may just wear a blouse under the dress to cover my arms.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

I was wondering if these shoes would work with a sweet loli ensemble. They're my absolute favorites and I wear them all the time, and I was wondering if they would also be able to work with lolita.

shoes

another view

Sorry for the icky insides... they have a cute heart pattern inside the shoes but like I said, I wear them all the time :/
