I agree with thatasianperson, the link photo looks more like a male posing. But that is not to say that Sora isn't passable.

Here is my question. I want to know if I have improved...I don't think I pull off male character in the past but I tried REALLY hard with my newest one, Tsukasa

Old Example
Tsukasa

I haven't actually DONE any male cosplays, but I was wondering if people think I could pass as a male, and some tips in doing so. I'm 5'4" and female.

And yes, I realize that a higher neckline may help. xD

If you don't mind me saying, you have rather androgynous features. With the right clothing and a little make-up and camera magic, I'd say you can! And very convincingly.

Thank you guys! ^^ I hadn't really considered the difference between men and woman's stances but now that you mention it it does make a difference!

I wish I could come across a tutorial of how to walk/stand like a guy, haha. Me and my friend are always trying to for fun just by mimicking our dude friends, but they're very unhelpful giving any tips. xD

Mokulen22, great costume!! I think you've improved, something in the way you hold your face in the later cosplay gives it a more masculine quality I think.

I really like your Tsukasa pics in your gallery btw, you pass even more in the up-close ones.
I think in the one you posted the way your hip is cocked makes it a little more feminine than the others?
Still good though.

I think there IS a thread like that in the Crossplay section... right... here:
http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=137495

Hope that helped! Also, hey, you! Yes you! Do I pass?

Ah that was extremely helpful! :O
I practiced all day, my friend was impressed haha! (: Thanks.

I'll throw in my two cents! If you don't mind me saying you pass quite well. I'm really jealous of your natural facial features - they're both beautiful and androgenous.

Also I was looking through your Kaname shot's and am SO impressed, I love your cosplay it looks amazing! Taking pictures with a feminine character made you seem all the more manly by comparison too. ^^

Thanks, I'm... honestly really flattered. C: Well, the main reason I thought she'd be perfect is because of the height difference. XP It never occurred to me that it would make me look more manry. A lot of people suggest that you use bronzer to shadow and contour your face, but I find that it makes me look more feminine... or maybe I'm just doing it wrong. XD

Anyone think that I could pass as the opposite gender? Any comments on my pics would be appreciated.

Hmmm, somehow your original post was wiped out when you edited for double posting, I guess.

Anyway I restored it in the quote above in part because I think you've done a great job with your first crossplay efforts! You really look great and your shape is just fine! That just leaves makeup, because from what is visible, your hair looks good too. Don't worry too much about it feeling odd at first, I think everyone gets that feeling. Afterall, you're breaking one of society's strongest taboos! LOL XD

Shoulders look a bit bulky with all the frills though. XD But it's just fine.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Your comment was really helpful PP. I really like the frills >_>; and thought they would disguise my shoulders and upper arms, but now looking closer, I see that it has to work in conjunction with the upper sleeves being more puffy, and front of the jumper being tighter. Unfortunately the puffy sleeves require the material to be loose so it can be gathered up, but my arms are filling up most of the space, while the tight jumper is an issue because I'm totally flat (being a guy and all... and I'm not going to use fake boobs).

This is going to tax my limited tailoring skills, since I already had a hell of a time with adding the long sleeves in the first place. It's too bad the pros seem to ignore you if you mention crossplay when asking about commissions.

My brain's all jumbled (I'm not too smart), so I only somewhat understand what you're talkin' about. BUT! Good luck with it! I'm glad you put a lot of effort into your crossplays. Shows you're passionate and driven. :3

This is pretty new to me. I've never crossplayed before but I do want to be Fai D. Flowright from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. It's a little weird because having someone say I look like a guy usually isn't exactly something a girl like me wants to hear, lol! I remember getting frustrated with a friend in particular who always commented on how I walk like a dude... But whatever, now I'm going to use that to my advantage!

So here's a couple of pics. I'm sorry, I didn't have a full size mirror or someone to take the picture so neither of them are full body so you can't see how I'm shaped. My main concern though is that I have full lips and am unsure of how to make them look thinner. I think I did a pretty good job looking like a boy though, so, yay?

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...equin/rude.jpg
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...equin/blah.jpg

Oh wait, here's one that sort of shows my full body, the parts that matter at least, right? I am sort of pear shaped, my shoulders are very narrow so my hips are wider than them.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...quin/smile.jpg

But really I think my main question is how to make my lips look thinner, and because Fai is smiling most of the time, how to smile more boyish?

Thank you!

I'd have to find more pictures of myself, but I know I pass since a lot of Kuro cosplayers thought I was another guy cosplaying Sebby. ^.~; heh heh. XD
