Hi thar everyone.

Well, I want to get some oppinions on how my crossplay is~ At cons, hald of the people think i'm a young boy and the other half think i'm a girl. Now my cosplay is Link from Twilight Princess. He's more so more manly is this one than other ones. So I'd like to know if i should amp up my makeup for this cosplay or if it's fine the way it is? I picked pictures with no flash cause most times the flash messes up the makeup effect.

Kiotoko_Solo: Your makeup for Link is actually really good the way it is! I don't see a need for any changes. (:

I'm really REALLY interested in crossplaying - But I don't know how good I am at it =/
This was my last (and kind of only) attempt:

Does anyone think it's decent?

For a first attempt, that really isn't bad. I'll give what advice I've gotten from other boards, but I'll openly admit I'm no expert. The eyebrows both help you and hurt you in that picture. Yes, they at first glance make you more masculine, but they're also a little too overdone. Assuming that character isn't known for having very large eyebrows, people would realize you made them bigger, and then assume you were hiding smaller ones. In other words, a girl. Try to make them more subtle.

You have a very pretty face, so it's difficult otherwise. Maybe a little makeup to fade your lips, certain angles to hide your feminine nose... I definitely think you could pass, but it wouldn't be easy either. But for a first try, that was better than just 'decent'. Good work. ^^

LunaMonkey: Did you bind at all? Because it doesn't look like it. I'm assuming, though, that it's just the shirt giving the boob effect. Be careful of clothing on characters that give even more of an appearance of curves and try to modify them so they don't. In the case of this shirt, you might want to make it less loose and tuck it in more to the bottom half of the outfit.

That plus Soren Talen's tips should help. (:

I recently did Jareth, and although I got a lot of compliments on it, I still feel like I look too feminine in all of my photoshoots. yes I open chest bind, and at the moment, dont really have hips. its really the makeup I'm concerned about
any/all advice is VERY welcome!

I think you only look female in the first photo link in the face/chin (not trying to seem like I'm nitpicking or something). In the second photo though, you can't quite tell that you're female. But my main opinion on your work on the costume is that you did a good job and the compliments you received are worth it. *Gives you thumbs up*

disco_spok: Looks pretty good! I would suggest a bit of blush on your cheekbones and some lip gloss, as well, maybe in a dark pink color (closer to red but not quite there). Feel free to experiment with colors on your eyes, as well.

Yah I don't have any lip products yet and only one neutral eye shadow pallet I use for contouring. Can you suggest any types or shades for the blush and eye color?

Ultimately I'm doing Princess Zelda

disco_spok: For Zelda I would suggest browns for the eyeshadow, pale pink for the lips (like in the image you provided for me), and something pinkish for the cheeks. I'm not sure which shade would work best for you, though, so you'll have to experiment a bit on your own. Good luck!

Well, I'll conform; I'm not much for asking people normally if I can "pass" from pictures, since they're not always what they seem --I mean, they don't always capture the entirety of the cosplay, since it's only a stillframe-- but I'll ask anyways.

I don't usually use a lot of makeup, and I don't really know how to do makeup for crossplaying, but I try sometimes, if I think I can handle it. So, here it is!

Me without crossplaying:

Me with crossplay attempts(?) -- some of these are just casual cosplay, so they're not complete or accurate:

Oh wow :3 you have a perfect face for Zelda! your strong points lie in your nose, lips and your soft jawline. I can make some suggestions cause I'm minoring in theatrical makeup and i've done Princess Zelda also. X3

What works very well is to have a creamy shade all over the eyelid, and at the corners of the eye, blend in a light brown. Now Princess Zelda has very cat-like eyes. Using liquid eyeliner, i would line your lashline and extend that edge just a bit, and upturn. Fill in the open space between the top eyeliner and teh bottom. EYELASHES. I cant stress this enough. Dark thick eyelashes give a more female appearance. Her eyebrows are also arched so just a drawn in thin eyebrow would be a nice finishing touch to her. ;3

here is the result of the eyemake up http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs44/f/20...otoko_Solo.jpg

thats a work in progress picture when i making my crown XD

I'm working on the chest area so it's not shown, but overall, I'm working on passing as the opposite gender as are most others in the forum.

Boy.

Girl. (My arm looks deformed in this picture. xD]
