The post in question was referring to someone who had said, here is a picture of me "in drag". So the response mentioning it wasn't meant as an insult.

I mean, if a gay person said "Man, that was totally queer of me" would you inform them that it's an offensive term? You can say that it offends you but don't tell people not to use a word they're comfortable using for themselves, y'know?

For the record, I have never heard it meant offensively. It'd be a bit weird to just randomly walk up to a crossplayer and tell them they look good in drag, but I can't imagine taking offense at that myself.

Aye, can't see the insult in that. The only thing I can think of is that a straight person might prefer 'crossplayer' as opposed to 'drag queen', since drag queen usually means gay, in today's society O.o
I probably wouldn't tell a gay person to stop saying stuff like that, as long as they don't say it around other people who would take offence
I crossplay all the time, and if I was told I look good in drag, I'd be like "Sweet! I pulled it off! So basically, I agree with your points ;P

I apologize for being so offensive and admit I was rude. Though saying someone's in drag can be insulting depending on who you say it to... I have to remember that crossplaying (and cosplaying in general) is a completely different thing than being transgendered. ^_^;;

Wow, ya'll get really worked up over something really inconsequential. The way I see it, say what you mean, mean what you say. If someone else doesn't like it, or takes offense to it, then that's their problem. people need to grow up and stop being so over-sensitive. That's one thing that really irritates me about todays society, everyone is so worried about offending other people that it's taking away our freedoms. You have freedom of religion in America, just so long as your religion doesn't offend others. You can fly and AMERICAN flag in America... just so long as it doesn't offend people of other ethnicities, People need to get the hypothetical sand out of thier hypothetical vagina's, grow some thick skin and not take life so seriously. ...as I write this, I wonder how many people will take offense to it. If I hurt your feelings, sorry, this is my opinion, your hurt feelings are your problem, and I don't care. Irregardless, this topic should be it's own thread and doesn't really belong in the "Universal? "Can I Pass?" Thread"

Word.

I doubt anyone would be offended by such needless hypocritical bullshit.

Perhaps you're right. Needles.... yes. Hypocritical..... not as far as I can tell. Bullshit..... well, I suppose thats up to your own interpretation. Or perhaps you missed the point of my rant. I'm just surprised that people can go on for so long about weather or not drag king/queen is offensive, and I don't think that the answer to that question is very important. Or maybe I'm full of crap and don't know what I'm talking about. Scenario two is also a possibility.

But wouldn't you be embarrassed to tell a person you thought was crossplaying, but really isn't that you liked their crossplay?
I consider crossplay and being in drag two different things.. to be honest.. Crossplay is dressing like a character that is the oppisite gender, and being in drag is where you don't dress in a particular character you're just dressed up as the oppisite gender. Which in some cases can be offensive because maybe the person who said you'd look good in drag honestly doesn't realize your in crossplay??
I don't know. Haha. That's just my theory anyway.

ISSUE OFFICIALLY CLOSED. Any further discussion of the word 'drag', go somewhere else. I'll start the thread, if need be. Yes, I realize it's hypocritical of me, someone who participated, and in part instigated the debate, but really. Wrong thread.

Yes. That's all I have to say. Yes...

Okay, I guess I'll say more. You can really pull guys off. You have a 'tough girl' face (don't know if that means anything) and can be changed into looking like guy fairly easily.
