Well, this isn't technically a Cosplay, but here's me from Halloween 2010, dressed as one of my pen & paper RPG characters. Interested to see what people think:

Leviathan: You did a very nice job. Just remember the power of makeup. Your eyebrows look lovely, but I would put some concealer around your mouth to eliminate some of the male stubbly stuff (we all have to deal with that alas). Your body looks excellent Keep up the great work (I am jealous that is something I cannot get right at all). Also remember that female hairlines are generally a bit lower than males so that can be a bit of a give away. But you look great overall
Xindra: You have that great screamo lead singer look which works quite well. I don't know too much about female to male passing so I cannot really help too much, but from what I can tell you pass nicely.

Now for my turn. I was attempting some princess peach makeup for Katsucon. Do I pass alright

You can clearly tell I was doing peach because of those lips. That is the first time I was satisfied with my lip makeup ^_^

though my face shape looks neutral and my eyebrows are fortunately manly, i was alway afraid that my lips were always giving me away :/

Giblinomix, that looks very good! very convincing at first look. i would put on some nice eyeshadow to make yourself look prettier, and i know you were trying to make your eyebrows look thinner and girlier, but i've never liked the pencil thin look. they always make me stare (i know, that's rude), and in your case i would stare at your face long enough to maybe realize you werent a girl. going with a more natural look is always more convincing.

I appreciate that. I mainly was attempting to imitate peach's face. She does have very thin and small eyebrows. But I am glad to know it does not really work for me. I will try to find a happy medium. Thanks

Well, I've been wanting to cosplay for quite a while and the characters that I'm interested in are either female or crossdressing guys so crossplay seems appropriate for me.

So I just want an opinion or two on whether I could pass and should give it a go or if I shouldn't bother. I want honest opinions so don't worry about hurting my feelings, I'm not that sensitive. XD

Tbh I think you can aslong as you wear the proper make up, your face shape and so on makes you look quite feminine.

What do you think of me? XD (As I'm starting to do a crap load of men, specially this year ><)

Thanks . Mildly surprised by the eyebrows comment since I haven't touched them, and close-up I think they look a little unruly
Makeup.. I can see your point, but after having acted on stage I have ended up with a quite large dislike of the stuff. I know that standard makeup and stage makeup are quite different, but it's still there..

Good point on the hairline, I hadn't even thought of that. The fringe is supposed to come down to nearly my eyebrows, but the wig I got didn't have anything to attach it properly, so it kept sliding backwards

As to body, why thankyou Amazing what a nice tight corset can do isn't it?

Well if they are unruly to you then I would suggest taking a comb to them, but far away they look fine and shaped. Mine are totally crazy and require covering. I use Spirit Gum, Skin wax and concealer. It takes forever but makes a big difference especially far away.

Alas makeup really is almost an essential even if its not too much. Knowing how to use it really helps I have spent quite a while learning to (hopefully) fairly decent results. Putting lotion on helps to offset the almost inevitable breakout, but that is neither here nor there. Just a touch of foundation and color can work wonders. You have a good face for it so it would not take much.

Funny enough there are glues that work and (to most people) do not cause allergies. I use lace front wigs which are great for passing. But even not you can still use things like double sided tape that are made for skin

Totally! That is the next step for me I found some nice tips on the interwebs so hopefully at Katsucon I can pass to the best of my abilities. You will have no trouble passing

The three main places for you to focus are the lips, eyebrows and nose. By making the lips a bit thinner you can give a masculine impression. Male Eyebrows are fairly flat and unkempt. It sort of looks like a large fuzzy caterpillar is napping on top of our eyes. They sell eyebrow power at makeup stores but honestly a nice brown eyeshadow or brow pencil works well to thicken them up. Out noses are a bit bigger so some clever highlighting would do nicely.

Because I am doing the opposite I do not have any first hand experience, but I found some great resources by this wonderful person on deviant. I will link too it here in case you need greater detail, but I attempted to at least give you a jumping off point

I would blank out lips with concealer and maybe do some shading in around your jawline. They would help but otherwise i think you look good

Cool, I'm planning a trip to the store to stock up on some new makeup within the week, and I'll keep this in mind. I typically use a nude colored lipstick for my lips, but I think concealer might work better for downplaying them and making them look thinner now that I think about it. Thanks!

Okay, so I haven't ever really used makeup before (even though I'm a girl! XD) And I'm going to be cosplaying Vincent Valentine. How can I use makeup to make myself look as Vincent-y as possible?
