korean cosplay agenda 2009

Hi,
I live in Paris but I am planning to come to Korea in the springtime and was wondering if there will be any events around that time. If not, I am interested in meeting other cosplayers. Please let me know if you are a cosplayer living in Korea.

Hello caldo,

Sorry I'm not a cosplayer--I'm rather a photographer.
Korea's pretty un-diverse in terms of people (meaning that you'll have hard time finding foreigners here), and a lot of Koreans aren't that fluent enough. It's a bummer how some people are even xenophobic!

Anyway, I go to a private boarding school in the States and am going back to Korea in mid-March. I believe every month there is this con called "Seoul Comic World" and a lot of people come.

It would be much easier to do things if you can speak Korean but since that's not the case...

I can also hook you up with private photo shoot if you would like to, since I have access to cosplay forum in Korea. I can help you out with going to cons and stuff.

Great to see someone who is interested in coming to my country!

Feel free to contact me through AIM or MSN.

Does anyone know the schedule for Comic World in Seoul? I always hear about it, yet I never know when each month they have it...

I'm living on Geoje-do at the moment. Anybody interested in getting together for one of the conventions?

People usually commute, as Comic World is NOT, by any chance, similar to American cons at all--that is, they open at 10AM and close at about 6PM. Most people show up around noon and leave around 4PM.

If you live in Seoul, I'd recommend just commuting. You'll figure the rest out. If you don't, find a public rest place (aka. 찜질방) to sleep for the night.

Holy crap, I'm totally stoked that there are at least a couple cosplayers (or just nerds) in Korea that know english. I'm actually moving to Seoul for a year; in fact, I'm flying out tomorrow. I definitely intend on going to at least one con, although I'm only packing Diva Foxx, and I guess that'll just have to last me for the year.

I'm going to be all sad and alone, so definitely pm me, I want to meet korean cosplayers, or just cosplayers who happen to be in Korea :3
