Nipple piercings

Long story short: I'm a girl who wants to get nipple piercing, but I'm worried about how that's gonna work when I try to bind for crossplay. Any suggestions/tips/advice?

Nipple piercings are ugly and they could pull or tear when you try to bind.

Oh ouch. Binding with nipple piercings just does not sound like it will end well. I imagine ('specially if you're larger and have to work more to bind) that it would be all too easy really hurt yourself by doing that.

Personally, I think they're ugly, and can easily pull/tear/get infected/fuck with your breasts (as any piercing can) However, it's your body, and if you wanna do it, then do it.

Ask the piercer. A good one will know exactly what you can and can't do, and for how long.

So long as the piercing has healed and you're not doing open-chest binding or the kind of binding that pulls skin in one direction or another, you'll probably be fine. Wrap/compression shirt only. You will want to wait at least a couple of months between piercing and binding, and the jewelry you wear while doing it should be small.

However, all this advice is based on talking to piercers about other kinds of aftercare, not binding-specific. Get info from the real experts!
Workin' on:
Tom Petty [Final Fantasy XV] (9%)
Bondage Finch [Bondage Finch Adventures] (12%)
Your Mother [Debbie Does Dallas XXIII] (8%)

That was where I hit the problem I believe. A couple years ago I got a nipple pierced. But it takes a long time to heal and is really sensitive. I would get it caught on lots of things (my bra would snag it, or a bathroom towel...) And I'm a little bit of a big girl (34D) so I couldn't really wear the shirts with the shelf in them, as my piercer suggested.

So when it came time to crossplay... I would wear a sports bra and wrap.

Anyway, long story short, after about a year of it not healing and still bleeding from time to time, I finally just got rid of it.

I could just be my body rejected it, or it could have been my lifestyle. But a nipple piercing was not for me.

Other friends I know theres have been fine.

Cons attending:
Otafest, Animethon, Anime Expo, CCEE

Costumes to work on:
Chie [Persona 4], Linda [Okage],
Ringo [Air Gear], Mamimi [FLCL],
Sakura [Tsubasa], Elizabeth [Persona 4],
Lightning [FFXIII],

Band-aid over the nipple and you'll be fine. That should make things look flat. It might hurt when you bind, but it SHOULDN'T... although I wouldn't DARE crossplay for at least a year after getting the piercing. I'd probably use a ring, too, since I'd think bars would make things hurt a bit.

Digital red the OP wasn't asking for your opinion on body mods. I am personally a fan of them, but I'd never get one due to a low pain tolerance in that area lol. I don't think it's fair to offer the advice of "just don't 'cause it's ugly."

I'm definatly with xMandiex, bandaids are the way to go.
Make sure that the glue of the bandaid does not come in contact with the ring itself or any skin likely to tear!
Also if it's having issues healing try putting antibiotic cream or polysporin on, then a bandaid. My healed nipple ring ripped slightly one day, and after 2 days of polysporin and bandaid it was totally healed!
And don't listen to these guys... nipple rings are sexy!

I've never really had a problem, and I spent nearly a whole convention with my binding on. Wait six months to a year before you try to bind, and if you use tape make sure to put a piece of gauze or similar over the piercing. The main thing to be aware of when you bind is not to create torque on the piercing. Be aware of the angle that you're directing things as you bind, and do not twist your binding sideways when readjusting.

I had this problem also. Do not bind with a new nipple piercing. I agree with Afton. Wait at least 6 months before binding with one, otherwise you'll be in unnecessary discomfort during your con. And you'll also risk infection.
