Transporting wigs

ANyone have any good tricks for trainsporting wigs (ie in the car, where a wig head is impractical), without them getting into a tangled mess? Since I've just spent quite a while washing, conditioning, and restyling mine, I'd like to keep them nice for Ota.

I... use wig heads. If I'll be traveling long distance, I'll put the wig heads in a box. I also have an old hat case... thing that has a stump for a wighead to sit on, and I use that for ones with heavy styling.

Depending on how long the drive is, you could ask the person in shotgun to hold it in their lap.

How much styling has gone into the wig? Will it be hurt if you just carefully wrap it in some netting or a towel and place it in the trunk last, on top of the luggage?

i keep it on the head and if the hair is long, i twist it and wrap it around the wig head to keep tangels from happening.

You could put the hair into a loose braid, or tie a bunch of strings around it, or just twist it up, if you're worried about tangles.

I know when I've ordered long wigs before they sometimes come with a ribbon tied around the hair to hold it in place. So like Gren said if you take ribbon and tie it every so often along the length of the hair, fold it up neatly and put it in a ziploc that might work.

or you can get a big cardboard box Ie. large enough to hold the wig and then temporary set the wig head with wig in the middle bottom of the box. using t pins or even nails thru the base of the box into the base of the foam head's neck (especially good for easily destroyed styles)and since your straped for space just tie the box to the roof of the car. you can put holes on the side of the corners of the box to pass rope thru and it'll hold tight.
