I plan on cosplaying Korea from APH but I can't figure out if his hair is black or brown. I've seen variations of both..
also, when I do find out what the hair color is, any suggestions for his weird curly single piece of hair?

and I can't figure out how his legs/shoes work. A good reference picture [maybe one that's legit] would help. I used to know a site where it had the legit profiles and what not but I can't find it > <;; I'm finding so many variations D:

It's probably black, but with brown highlights. If you're using real hair, and it's black, it should be fine. But if you're getting a wig, try to find one that's black but with a slight brown shine to it. But if between brown and black, black is prolly better. 8D

Oh neat, a Korea cosplayer

For his hair color, I've seen it depicted as black in older official art (and most fanart), though on the trading cards it's deep brown/black with brown highlights. And in the scrapped anime design for him, it was plain darkish brown (almost looked like Romano's shade in some art). His clothing colors also vary between references: Dark blue and white in most official art, and violet and off-white (almost lavender-looking) for the unused anime version.

If you want to go for a really dark brown, you could try looking for a wig that has the color option of "4" (known as Coffee House or something on Amphigory). It's a lot darker in reality than how it appears in some pictures ;^^

For his curly bit, there's a tutorial on the wig forum about "high-gravity strands" that could work, it looks like it'd be good for him (I plan to possibly use it for my Italy). Or if the wig isn't very thin, you could also use Got2b on a section of hair and tease it up into the curl.

The Hetalia LJ community has the old profiles for the characters, including Korea's. This one reference picture I got was cut off at the shoe part, but here it is:

well i could only find small pictures of korea's shoes. but i was flipping through some old comic books and saw an ad for a series called "Way of the Rat." i thought to myself, "hm. those are like korea!"

to me, it looks like kung fu shoes or something similar, socks, and some kind of leg warmer type thing over it, covering the part of the pants.
