Persona helm/head

Anyone here know how to make helm/head for Izanagi from Persona 4?

I've JUST started making that and so far I've been using craft foam, hot glue and I'm gonna make a base mask to attach the foam front to.

This is the progress I have so far... remember I JUST started and at the moment I have to hold it to my head, that will change soon. ^^;

Izanagi? Awesome! I'm going to cosplay Yamato Takeru from that same game, and I'm having a similar problem with the helmet (It's huge!)

This helmet tutorial seems pretty helpful to at least make a base out of, if not the whole thing: http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=97106

Someone also recommended wonderflex to me, and I think that's the way I'm going to go. So maybe use that? There's a really helpful thread somewhere that tells you all about it.

But cardboard or craft foam like keriko is using might be easier. Sorry, I'm not much help.
