Lucario Mascot Head

I'm going to be cosplaying Lucario at ACEN this year, and I'm stuck on the head. I have foam I can use but I think I got too thick a sheet to make a mask with. Somebody suggested I instead layer batting and sew fabric onto that (and I'll use foam for the nose and ears)...any other suggestions? I would prefer to have at least partial mouth access at the bare minimum, i.e. it doesn't have to cover my whole head.

Hmm.. Those all sound like good suggestions, I'd say go with foam as I'm not familiar with layer batting. Tutorials and YouTube videos can be very helpful as that's what I've done. Here's a topic that may be able to help you. Wish you luck!

How thick is the foam? If it's really thick then you can glue it together and make a big block, then carve your head out of it. That's how I made my Tama Neko head ^_-.

It's about an inch thick I think. I don't have enough that's not cut up to form a block...I think I'll just buy a half-inch sheet and cut out my balaclava pattern into the foam. I only need it slightly bigger than my actual head.
