I'm probably going to be in an extreme minority here, but Hunny from Ouran always annoyed the shit out of me. I realize it's a parody but there's no other way of justifying a high school senior acting like a five-year-old girl.

I also had a severe dislike for pretty much the entire male cast of Loveless, specifically the male Zero pair. The sadistic "little devil" character archetype is one I'm really not fond of. I realize they improved later on but I still never managed to warm up to them.

Pathetic male leads in harem anime are another archetype I've come to despise. I realize that the blander the main character is, the easier it is for the male target audience to project themselves onto him, but if they'd bothered to give the poor sap some personality and some backbone, some of these series might actually be GOOD. Saito from Zero no Tsukaima and Keitaro from Love Hina fall into this category. Their formulaic recurring "THIS ISN'T WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE, I JUST FELL INTO YOUR BOOBS" gags are so old.

Attenborough from Gurren Lagann, better known as the clown-faced trigger-happy twit from the Dai Gurren-Dan. His mere existence is weakly justified - Wikipedia: "He randomly showed up in the series one day, later it was confirmed that he "snuck into some bozo's luggage," and that is how he joined Team Dai Gurren." Seriously?

Suzaku (Code Geass), honestly he made me want to punch someone in the face. His attitude was so annoying, and made me not want to watch the second season. (Mainly cause I loved Lulu, how dare he do that to him!)

Muraki (Yami no Matsuei), He will always give me the creeps and annoy the heck out of me. Please just die, very painful death please. I don't think he ever died in the manga which made me upset. (xD;; I feel horrible for saying that)

Greil (Kuroshitsuji), fff I'm sorry to anyone who likes him, but I just find him very, very annoying. ><;;

Some male characters that I feel need to be smited:
1) Sasuke- emo little sociopaths may work for the squealing fangirl (or guy, whatev) masses, but I am not one of them.
2) Keitaro- I actually do enjoy the series, but not because of the male lead. I sometimes found myself wishing he weren't "immortal".
3) LIGHT YAGAMI!!!!- I cannot understand why so many fangirls are in love with this guy! Okay, his intentions might have been honorable (in a twisted sorta way) but his little god complex showed what a homicidal psycho he is.

I'm sure I'll think of more later, but for now, this is all I got.

Aya-san from Fruits Basket is probably my favorite annoying character, because he is so annoying that I have become a fan.

A character I don't like because he is annoying would be watanuki. He's cool when he's being a main character, but then he has to explode into a squirming pile of loud annoying-ness.

I don't think Near or Light should be considered annoying characters, as they are simply character models many people don't like. (for example: Near sucks because L is a much better character and Near is just trying to replace L's role in the show, plot-wise).

Kyon from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, season 2 actually. It's mostly because of his actions when he finds out the truth about the situation he and his friends are in during this season. It's freakin' annoying and I hate that he doesn't take action. He is too pessimistic. ><

- Kaname (Vampire Knight)- I have a serious love/hate relationship with this character... I honestly do love him, I catch myself staring at my poster of him on my wall like 100 times a day; but something about him annoys the hell outta me at the same time... I think its how he acts so gentle and elegant around others, but is obviously (as he displays when Zero is the only one around) a sadistic bastard... But he's so FUCKING PRETTY!!! And that fact is both good and highly ANNOYING...

- Yuki from Fruits Basket. I don't find him all that charming or deserving of a fan club. He's really a jerk 8/ and doesn't look good in girl clothing either.
- Hisoka from Descendants of Darkness. I've only seen the anime, but he's so useless and bland.
- Eiri Yuuki from Gravitation. NO PERSONALITY. None. Not even a little. At least Hisoka was a little angsty.
