Ooo! I haven't heard about this Yule Con! What's it like? ^^ I want to go to as many cons as possible, but I can't travel that far. (I can't remember where the Texas Motor Speedway is, anyway...)

TMS is out in the middle of nowhere ^^;;;

But the con is cheap and I had a lot of fun last year ^^ I'm sure with working out the kinks from last year It's going to be even more fun this year.


I live a bit north of Dallas in a place no one probably would know where it is but, it's next to Frisco XD So North Texas for me.

I could also be classified for East as I am there half the time but... there are no known cosplay orgs out there at this time that I'm aware of... I've found a few anime fans though so, there might be something XD

Sorry to double post but this is to seperate some clarification on regions of Texas.

DFW area (and some of the surrounding area, not too far west or south or east) is considered North Texas (or north central). The Panhandle is.. well the panhandle (not north texas). West Texas is fairly obvious. Central Texas is usually what you would call the hill country and is smack dab in the middle of the state (think Temple/Belton, Kileen, Lampassas, Austin, etc.). South Texas is like San Antonio down to the coast. Northeast Texas... think Paris and all of those things going up on I-30 (when you're out of Dallas) towards Arkansas. Southeast Texas is like College Station/Houston/Galveston. I guess the middle part of all that you could call just East Texas lol (I do XD).

Just posting this because I've noticed a few posts that are kinda off on the regions.

There is also this map but its a bit more detailed then what we've got here: http://www.texascenter.org/almanac/m.regions.gif (like, North and west central I would consider all of northcentral texas, and the panhandle doesn't come down that far (and where it falls below the panhandle is part of west texas).

Yule-con was great because it was small. No fighting crowds, no running all over the place to get to photo shoots/panels. You got to really hang out and talk with people but there was still the usual stuff to do like gaming tournaments, dating game, cosplay contest....I heard the anime Deal or no Deal was great, I was off doing bjd stuff.

Hello Jellos! North Texas cosplayer Shibby Ness from The Richardson/Garland area I'v been going to Kons in Texas for about 10 years and cosplaying for 9 years. I plan on attending A-kon 20 and I wouldn't mind us(me and my hubby) doing a photoshoot. It sounds fun! I wanna do some new things at A-kon this year beside the normal panty raids, hotel partys, "dance"(aka the rave). btw there is a photshoot thread in the A-kon event forum.

Also for those interested; I have a room at A-kon in which I will be serving sake shots for 21+ people maybe w/ a donation of $1 per shot or something from everyone to keep the party going, but I'm not selling it cuz I kno the Kon rulez. So come party!!!

yah I was hoping to do a x-men photoshoot in honor of the new Wolverine movie, but I dont see anyone else going as x-men characters for A-kon. Go to surfthechannel.com and you can watch x-men:evolution if you miss it @Shinobi_Misa ,thats where I watch it.

I woukld love to do the Bayville Sirens from Evolution. if only I can find 4 other girls interested for Boom Boom(Tabitha), Shadowcat(Kitty), Gene, and Magna(Amara) that is my cosplay group dream.
