Help with harnessing a heavy tail prop

Hi, so my cosplay involves a heavy tail prop that' essentially a high gauge wire that doesn't sag down from the weight of all the heavy cardboard attached to the tail; especially at the very end. The end result is a rigid, semi-two dimensional tail that doesn't sag due to the rigidity of the wire, however is very heavy to the end and thus no mater how I fasten it, bends me pants and whatever belt, and sags down.

Is there any sort of harness technique I can use to attached this wire to my body without it either: 1) turning sideways or 2) sagging down.

NOTE: Again, if it wasn't clear the tail is 2-D image almost, that has a tendency to tip sideways or sag down.

Thanks for any help!
