Question Cosplay wedding!

One of my best friends, who actually introduced me to cons and cosplay, is getting married next May, and is encouraging her bridesmaids to dress in costume. There are a few requirements: the dresses must all be floor-length, and each must be the color assigned to them. She's got a pastel theme going--pastel pink, blue, yellow, purple, and green. I got green.

So my plea to you is this: can you think of any nice cosplay dresses that are either mint or would look good when converted to mint? I've only got two ideas so far, and that's Cagalli Yula Athha's second gown (though her first gown has also been deemed acceptable) and Charlotte's nightgown.

Said Cagalli dress (top right)

And the best full-body pic of Charlotte I could find XD

Much appreciated!

First, congrats to your friend! Also, thank you for not making this another "is a cosplay wedding appropriate?" thread. ^^;

I can't think of any mint-dresses off the top of my head, but converting one of the senshi's princess forms from the Sailor Moon manga would be a good possibility. With possible exception of Jupiter's (which is ironic, since she's got green), Moon and Chibimoon, the dresses wouldn't compete with the brides' dress as far as how much it stands out.

Couple links:

Materials Collection--all but Chibimoon and Venus
Chibimoon and Venus

I know there are way more formal outfits out there, but when somebody says "bridesmaid's dresses" that always seems to get brought up. ^^;

Thank you, Enkai. I'll be sure to pass on the message. And the Sailor Jupiter dress is a very good idea! Not only that, but that's an awesome website! You've definitely helped me out, if not necessarily for the wedding XD

How about Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy? Hers is a gorgeous floorlength gown.

And what a fun idea by your friend! ^_^*

Well, there's Emma and Aurelia's dresses from Episode 5 of Victorian Romance Emma season two but those are rather obscure... (see below)

Kiyone had a nice green dress in one of the Tenchi Muyo OVAs (link: http://www.northarc.com/images/tmuyo/Kiyone_11.jpg ).

Oh, I would totally do Rosalina if it didn't do that thing where the skirt starts right under the bust--it just doesn't work on me as I have a large ribcage :P

And while indeed, I have not heard of Victorian Romance Emma, that is a lovely, perfect dress for this sort of occasion! I'll put it in my "to be considered" file

CLAMP immediately comes into mind when it comes to gowns~ Sadly there isn't much green in their color scheme. XD

Fuu from MKR Another one!

My next sugesstion is Princess Fiona from Shrek, it's not exactly mint, but it would be kinda refreshing~ XD

Since it's a wedding, I wouldn't do anything too flashy. You are a bridesmaid after all and one thing to remember is to never ever outdo the bride in her wedding dress. Go for something not sooo over the top that people won't even remember what anyone else was wearing.

A nice ensemble that came to mind was that of Elizabeth from Kuroshitsuji. The dress is nice, green in color, and doesn't make too much of a splash.

TRSI / Nozomi Entertainment licensed it. They have some very nice box sets for season one and two.

I'll rewatch the series after work and see if there are any other designs that would fit your "it should be green" requirement.

Gosh, AI Sparky, Emma looks just too cute to resist--like Howl's Moving Castle. I'll definitely try to get a hold of it!

And I agree with you, redchainsawz, in that my dress should not outdo the bride's. That is quite a cute dress Elizabeth has, and I have wanted to get into Kuroshitsuji... Thanks for the suggestion!

Ephemeral_poyo, the links you gave me didn't work, but indeed, Fuu would suit the color requirement. I feel bad for not thinking of her (and Sailor Jupiter) from the start!

I definitely second Elizabeth's dress fro Kuroshitsuji, it's a beautiful series and a really cool dress.

http://noviceotaku.files.wordpress.c.../12/akikan.jpg <- There's a series called Akikan! that I've heard about from an old issue of Anime Insider. It's about a boy who opens a can of soda and instead gets a girl! Her dress is the right color, but you'd have to lengthen the skirt (but it's a really light and flowing skirt so it'd work well, especially in summer heat).

I haven't actually read/watched the series myself, but the dress works! XD

Best of luck, and congrats to your friend!

It is lovely, isn't it? But this new series sounds hilarious! A can of soda, of all things? XD It's definitely the right color, and I don't think anyone will have problems with me lengthening the skirt slightly I'll put it in my "to be considered" folder!
