Currently lamenting having dinosaur computers (although they do have their uses) because they cannot play Team Fortress 2. The two most used computers in the house, ages 15 and 5, both fail the minimum requirements.

Funny, I got my boyfriend Metroid Prime Trilogy for Christmas, and he FINALLY booted it up this past week. I got lucky getting it! When I was working at GameStop I saw two used copies pass through, and the 2nd was PRISTINE so I snatched that one for him.

Anyway, I've been watching him play that and also acting as his partner in L.A. Noire. I help solve cases.

As for me, I'm just working toward 100% achievements on Dragon Age II & Fallout: New Vegas. I also started up Pokemon SoulSilver again when I found my pokewalker after 2+ months of not checking -- it had SO MANY STEPS and it inspired me.

So, I played through Shadows of the Damned a second time (you can't just beat it on the hardest difficulty and get the trophies for Easy and Normal, too, which is lame, but oh well), and it's amazing just how much it lifts directly from Resident Evil 4 (even down to the wooden barrels and crates you had to break open for items and money). Perhaps that's to be expected given Shinji Mikami's involvement, but even so, this game is a prime example of why simply copying a successful game's template is not enough to guarantee success.

And now that I think about it, I guess you could say the same thing about Resident Evil 5, ha.

I missed out on Metroid but I have the Super Mario All-Stars thingy for the Wii! It's ...actually it's exactly SMB:All-Stars on the SNES but in a collector's package with a soundtrack. Haha. I want the Metroid Prime Trilogy though because I actually like Wii controls. I bought the Resident Evils on the Wii because I liked those controls.

I also like the gyro controls for aiming ranged weapons in Ocarina of Time on the 3DS. Help me, you guys, Nintendo is turning me into a freak of nature.

I finished child of Eden. The ending really made my wish I had submitted pictures for their memories program a few months back when the game was still in development. Trying to go through the game on hard, but....it's called hard for a reason. Damned difficult.

Tried to play Trenched and Marvel afterwards, wasn't feeling it. Probably gonna turn in early, got a long day tomorrow.

I dunno, dude, I know a ton of people my age who honestly believes that games like Zelda, Star Fox, and Mario Kart got their start on the N64. I hear it ALL the time. I also hear (although not as frequently) people making stuff up like you said where they say stuff like "oh sure, I played every Smash Bros. games starting with that side-scrolling one on the NES." But that usually comes from those annoying people who lie about everything anyway.

I'm honest about my gameplay history. My first Zelda was Link's Awakening (the original, not DX). I used to play my cousin's copy until one year for Christmas my aunt bought it for me and my mom gave me Link to the Past at the same time. Best Christmas ever.

Also, I was born in early 1988 so I played NES as a child but mostly missed out on that generation but had a SNES and Genesis when those were new, so it kind of makes me sad that people my age don't realize that the N64 is NOT the first video game console when they should be old enough to know better.
