I'm actually almost done. I'm in Prometheus. I honestly never use any plasmids except Shock, Telekinesis and BEES! I really love the bees. Oh, and Incinerate when the game requires it. Once I was collecting enough cash to stock up on Electric Buck, the Big Daddy's weren't too bad. Equip Shock and the shotgun loaded with Electric Buck. Make sure all meters are full. Shock, blam, blam, blam, blam, Shock, reload, heal &etc. For the average mook, I find that bees and a wrench to the head work faster than anything else. The only thing that really gives me fits is the security cameras. Getting the hack prompt is iffy so I just blast them but that usually involves dying a few times.

Overall, I like it a lot! Not sure it's in the "love" category for me, but I'm going to be near a GameStop this afternoon and plan on picking up BS2.

Lower your expectations for BS2 if you're gonna buy that over Infinite. It was handled by an entirely different team, and the general stance is that the narrative suffered for it. Also grab the Minevra's Den DLC, but it's actually super legit.

I love reading about who mained what Plasmis/various playstyles for all the BS games. Obviously if you're not dying it works. I mained mostly the Shock/Big Daddy/Fire plasmids in 1, and stuck to machine guns for weapons.

Sid Meier's Ace Patrol is out on iOS and if you like strategy games you should give it a try. They let you play the first few missions free before asking for money (99 cents to finish the first campaign), which isn't that bad.

Finished Bioshock. I thought it was very very good and I liked it a lot. They only reason it's not great/love is because of the reload animations which only got worse as the game went on. There were a lot of times in the last two parts (escort mission and final boss) where I had to do really fast weapon/ammo changes and it was pretty fucked up right there. I did find work-arounds, but it was feeling kind of cheap. :/ But still - overall, I'm very very positive on it.

I've heard that 2 is not as good, so I'm prepared for that. I did pick up the PS3 Ultimate package yesterday. I'm tempted to replay 1 on Survivor which isn't available on XBox. That way I can do the DLC. Also, I'm curious if some of the glitches I got swapping ammo/weapons and having plasmids fail in narrow corridors was related to the XBox and/or my controller. Shitty XBox D-pad is shitty.

I've also heard that as far as motion chaos 1<2<Infinite. So I figure I should see if I can handle the first person POV on 2 before I go out and drop $60 on Infinite.

I find it funny that you're complaining about reloading in 1, because I remember a vocal minority of people who played Infinite who bitched about the reloading. BSI handles a ton better an BS, and it makes me question if they actually played the original.

And yea, Infinite will probably be most chaotic in terms of motion, given what kind of things you can do with the Skyhook. Some are optional, some of are very much not.

As for technical issues, I honestly don't remember having any when I did my first playthrough on the Xbox, but that was also like 6 years ago. My last run was on the PC, which obviously ran fine, glorious PC master race, etc.

IDK, man. So far I like Bioshock 2 just as much if not better. A lot of my minor gripes have been fixed. The reloads are faster, the clips are larger, the maps are better. Other bonuses: you can melee with any weapon, I like the camera better, hack darts exist, rivet gun (the weapon formerly known as crossbow) >> pistol as an early weapon, I like the Little Sister mechanics. It helps that I'm playing it on the PS3 where the d-pad doesn't suck. At the same time, it is legitimately harder (still playing on Hard). I find that I need to be a lot more careful about managing resources. And Big Sisters are hard as balls. BALLS, I tell you! I'm not too far along in the story, but I love playing as Subject Delta. I find all the voice overs entertaining. Regardless, gameplay is always going to count more for me than story.

I played both on the 360, so the experiences are slightly different. I will give you the rivet gun being awesome though. And we'll talk more once you beat it, because my gripes with the game are kinda spoilerish, and I dont want to be that guy. Glad you're digging it though.

As for me, FINALLY got to sit down and play some GAMES this weekend. On the tail end of the Code of Princess campaign, and I got to put some time into both Monanco and XCOM:EU. And a friend bought me Far Cry: Blood Dragon, which isn't bad, but man, I'm kinda torn on the mechanic so far.

I found most of the complaints about Bioshock 2 were more about the storyline and less about the gameplay. Such questions as "Who is this Sophia Lamb?" and "Why have we never heard of her before?" tend to be the biggest gripes, and I'll admit that I had the same thoughts, but the book "Bioshock: Rapture" filled in a lot of the blanks in the story arcs and tied the games together quite nicely. Glad you're enjoying it TheHag

That, and - Today is the day! With Comiccon over, I can finally play on my XBOX for reasons other than checking stupid little details! Hooray! I'm not sure what I'll play first, but probably Borderlands 2, seeing as it's all I've been thinking about for the last month or so.

Finally started the campaign in Gears of War Judgment last night. It's.. different. Feels like multiplayer match stages with some sort of story going on. We'll see how it goes.

BioShock 2 gets a lot of hate that I don't think it deserves. It was a very fun game with good gameplay. Glad you're liking it.

It's a legitimate complaint, but I'm usually happy to fill in the blanks on my own. As long as the gameplay and art direction are good, I don't mind a little nonsense in the story.

I agree. The gameplay is almost identical to the first game, but a lot smoother. I love the new areas. And I love the underwater parts!

Played a little bit of everything in the last 48 hours. NieR, NieR Replicant, Raiden II, Einhander, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, Super SF4 Arcade Edition, SF X Tekken, Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Project Diva F, Catherine, Child of Eden, the Blade Wolf DLC for MGR, and a tiny bit of Dust 514. Good god. I've game-jumped more in the last two days than Ralph.
