Chinese dress for pattern?
I'm cosplaying ray from beyblade soon
http://i28.tinypic.com/wknte0.jpg And i was thinking i could use my chinese dress for a pattern since my dress is like the character's. Is it a good idea to use it as a pattern? I don't have a picture of MY chinese dress, but it looks kinda like this except its a bit bigger on myself and it's shorter. *NOTE* I will be binding and my dress doesnt have a "figure" to it, so it'll look fine with my binding http://i28.tinypic.com/6nwcpe.jpg |

I would say if you have a dress already get some newspaper and copy it into a pattern labeling the pieces, this will give you a pretty exact pattern

You could.
It'd involve a lot of modification (like the sleeves and the collar) when you draw out the pattern, but hey, since the type of clothing is the same, I say, go for it. You're not planning to cut the qipao apart, are you? |
