I finished my M3 Predator heavy pistol last night and almost finished my data pad - I'm just waiting on some orange plexiglass in the mail.

I'm having a really hard time deciding what to actually write on my data pad...

Hey guys! Glad to see a bunch of other ME fans here! /wiggle

I'm kind of new to this site but not really. I just reactivated my account after a few years of not using it/not really having much of a reason to.

Uuuhhhhhh.... I know there's over a hundred pages of useful stuff for making a ME costume but as much as I was skimming through... I still feel a bit at a loss for creating N7 armor for my femshep cosplay.

I've never worked with foam or anything for props, let alone making armor out of it and I'm really lost on what to do and how to do it. I'm sure a bunch of other people have asked this too, but... can you help me out? It would mean a lot to me.

As an add on, I know a lot of Shepard's use eva foam, but I really don't have the money or means of using that type of foam[No cutters, etc] at time point in time and I'm looking for a decently easy way to make the armor but also have it sturdy enough to last awhile rather than wearing it to one con and then its life is over. :C

Any tips, tricks, urls, vids, tutorials will be helpful!! <3

You can find lots of great start-to-finish builds on therpf.com - for Mass Effect and other games/movies, mostly scifi and comics. There's a few male Shepard armor builds, a few handguns/assault rifle tutorials. Everyone is super helpful on there -very professional.

For example, this is my build for the M3 Predator: http://www.therpf.com/f9/mass-effect...-build-135117/

If you don't have money for Eva foam, I'm not sure what you have money for - since Eva foam is relatively inexpensive and readily available - and I think you can cut it with a hobby knife or box cutter (no electric saws needed).

Ah! Thank you for that helpful link. :]

Your gun looks amazing, by the way.

Well, to be honest, I haven't really looked at many different ways to make the armor, but, I see many people use eva foam and it tends to look like ME armor. When I looked up pricing of the eva foam squares, it is a bit pricey (in my opinion) and when you get squares of foam that cause you to cut the sides off because the edge shapes aren't usable. Bah. Unless I'm getting this wrong and there's other types of eva foam besides the puzzle pieced shapes.

Glad to know that you can use it with a hobby knife of box cutter, though!

Hey guys, figured I'd post more on coscom lol.
Anyway, I've been getting a lot of recommendations from a lot of my friends to cosplay Captain Anderson. Problem is, I'm not terribly good at sewing, nor do I even know where to start. I can't seem to find any Alliance officer patterns online anywhere. Does anyone have any advice on where to start? :/

The ME1 uniform reminds me of the Battlestar Galactica uniforms and i know people modified this pattern to make them -
http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m474...hp?page_id=493

There is his ME3 costumes too..the alliance uniform is different and he also wears a combat outfit, like Shepard. (from what ive seen of the ME3 trailers)

Hey everyone. At the request of a friend who's cosplaying Shep for ACEN, I'm getting ready to start work on a Liara costume. My budget is somewhat limited, however. I'm going for the Shadow Broker outfit:
http://s1203.photobucket.com/albums/...ME2cap0058.jpg
I've seen it done with neoprene, but I've not been able to find that for less than $4.50/sq ft. Does anyone know of a different fabric that might work?

So I have an update. This summer I will be attending Otakon and I'm going as Commander Shepard (my own femshep) and I will more than likely have both a Garrus and a Joker with me!

Is anyone else attending Otakon/plan on doing a ME cosplay? 8'D

I was wondering, any ME cosplayers going to Megacon?

I'll be wearing Liara Saturday and casual FemShep on Sunday and would love some photos with other characters!!

I'm just popping in to say thanks for this thread! I've been contemplating a Mass Effect costume for a while - just haven't decided what costume to do or how to go about it. The tutorials and links in this thread really helped me get an idea of where to start!

For my first costume, I might just put together a simple Normandy crew member's uniform - something that will be a good "comfy costume" to wear at D*C, since a lot of my other costumes for the con involve face paint, wigs, corsets, and other uncomfortable bits. But I love the idea of an Asari costume at some point in the future.

Oh man, I can actually post in here now...after lurking and lurking. Well let's see. I wanted to cosplay Miranda and then I downloaded Kasumi last night and that idea went to hell. I'd love to cosplay Kasumi, but I'm at a complete and total loss on where to start. I look at her outfit and choke a little bit.

If anyone has any advice on patterning that bodysuit, fabric, etc. I'm all ears. I'd love to start working on her soon (planning on bringing her to Saboten if I attend so I have plenty of time to work on her.) but I want to know what I'm doing before attempting it. Looks like this is where I'll be camping out for awhile hahaha.

Hi guys! I haven't been on this thread in forever, but once upon a time I made a Shepard costume (which was terrible) and was planning a Morinth costume that didn't turn out.

I have an asari headpiece just floating around my house so I'm planning on making an original outfit based on the outfits in the first game. I'm hoping I get it done for the ME3 midnight launch because Bioware always has little parties at the local EB Games when their new games come out!

Just figured I would say hi and make myself known. I'm probably going to harass you guys for the next while, haha.
