necro-ing prevention?

is it possible or worth doing to lock older threads
in a manner where only the OP or mod can reopen

that way things like build logs can be updated periodicaly

but people useing the search function cant necro a post from years back?

im just thinking it dont really help anyone
when someone reopens a thread for a "me too" or "did you ever complete"
then you get others trying to help the OP again
which in many cases the OP hasnt been active since that thread started
**disclaimer im trying to stop correcting my dyslexic typos

disclaimer, i havent made any projects, so my input is only repeating things ive read here
or simply adding in "my 2 cents", which for the most part is valid advice, or atleast "sound in theory", having a second opinion is always a safe bet
