Exclamation Team Fortress 2 RED Scout!

Hey, everyone! I'm looking to make a RED Scout, from the game Team Fortress 2, costume. Here are some pics...

I've already got the belt, the shirt, the shoes, the socks, the athletic tape for the hands, and the hat.

What I need:

The headset: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3602/...a7a6c19c_o.jpg
The 'messenger' bag on his back: Can't find a good picture; look at the ones above ^
And his scattergun: http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs44/f/20...y_fevereon.jpg
BTW If you know of a way that I can obtain one like that, PLEASE TELL ME!

I've also got some sweatpants for the pants, but I'm not so sure if those'll work...
I'm also planning on buying a plastic bat and spray-painting it silver.
And I was thinking of just going to an army surplus store for the dogtags.

For the scattergun, I was just gonna use a couple of paper towel tubes, some cardboard, and a plastic handle from an old capgun.

I have so far thought of two options for the headset:
1.Buy a normal set of headphones. Attach wire and cork. Cut one headphone off.
2.Buy a gaming mic/headset. Cut one headphone off.
The latter would cost more, but I'm not sure how realistic the cork and wire would look.

I still haven't thought of anything for the messenger bag, so any suggestions would be welcome.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!
