koban coins

hello all!
this is my first post to a cosplay site so bear with me if you can! I have a Jin costume from Samurai Champloo, and i was wondering what i would need to do to acquire some koban coins to help complete the costume. I've thought of making them out of clay, but too brittle. I dont have any metal working experience, but i'd be willing to try if someone has some simple ideas. if anyone knows where i can buy some replicas, that'd work too! I've tried ebay and epier, and they dont have anything like i'm looking for.
i'm not sure what the rules say about posting other site links but this should give u an idea of what i'm looking for: http://www.story-games.com/forums/co...ID=9326&page=1
all help appreciated!

you could carve them out of foam sheets or you can make one with clay and make a mold and just make them with the mold.

Posting links from other sites is fine here XD There are just a few merchant sites banned from the forums because they've spammed here before.

I would suggest Sculpey or Fimo for those- as suggested above, you could make a negative mold (where all the parts that are raised in that picture are indented and viceversa) so that you can stamp out a whole bunch of the coins easily.

thanx but...

those are really good ideas and i appreciate you taking the time to answer. i've considered sculpey and will probably end up using it if I can't find another way. I'm really hoping to be able to make metal ones if possible. the clinky noise they make is just too good to pass up. is there any kind of home press to stamp out coins? it'd be nice if i could stamp some brass, or some other malleable metal like aluminum or copper and coat it with a gold foil, if that is even possible. i've ordered some replica coins from japan; they came today but they are way too tiny. thanks in advance!
