Widening your shoulders

Have any of you female crossplayers tried to widen your shoulders when you crossplay a character who can't hide his shoulders behind armor? I'm crossplaying Akio from Utena and his red shirt just does not sit on my shoulders right and it just makes me look more feminine... anyone tried athletic shoulder pads or something like that. Regular shoulder pads aren't making it fit the way I need it to. ^^

Don't get the regular ones. If you look, they will usually also have big icky foam ones from the 90s, when HUUUGE shoulders were in (and some women have never graduated) They usually are about 3 bucks, because most people just don't want them. Not covered in fabric, or anything nice, just icky foam.

I used them for Sora and they helped me look a lot more boyish

Where would I find these icky shoulder pads? Do fabric stores carry them?

I found them at JoAnne's, hidden waaay down on the bottom of the shoulder pad shelf, where they could pretend they didn't carry the horrific things. They were packaged in a carboard box, not a nice, see-through baggie.

If you cant find those, you could always try to double up shoulder pads to make them thicker.
