Kibouya Honpo Clown Outfit help
A friend of mine and I are planning to make their outfits from the ever-amazing, completely underappreciated Kibouya Honpo "Hansei Shimaseu" PV. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjFi5...eature=related
We want to make the outfits that both the vocalists [Haru and Eiji] are wearing [The one with pink hair and the one in the yellow outfit respectively]. My friend is a much more experienced sewer than I am, but we're a little stumped on what fabrics would work best to look as accurate as possible, as well as what kind of patterns to edit in order to fit. Also, I have no clue how to create Eiji's hair extentions to have them accurately sit on my head all day. [These will be worn a few times, and at least one convention for an entire day *preferably*, so I'd like to make sure they'll stay on my head despite the weight they may have] Effort is in no means a problem, because we're going to work our hardest on these. Any advice surrounding these outfits would be really helpful and appreciated =3 Thanks very much guys X3 Some refs we have: http://media.photobucket.com/image/k...0/PDVD_035.BMP http://www.nautiljon.com/images/peop...ouya_honpo.png http://www.nautiljon.com/images/clip...i_shimaseu.png

ok so as for the like black outfir id say the easy way would be to buy a black hoodie thats a little strechy cut off the hood and then go to a fabric store and buy some furr and stich it on where the hood used to be then like get some white fabric and sew it to the bottoms of the sleeves but if you want to make the sleeves baggyer then buy some of the same or close matirial fabic and open the seem and add it and like for the dimond shape things like white fabric and sew them over like the zipper area (why i said a little big) thats just my ideas sorry if its not helpfull but thought id give it a shot and please forgive my spelling ive only been in the sates a year

oh thats gonna be awsome, I was actually thinking of making something that was inspired by some 'a those outfits xD the hair extensions you should look into these kinda things.
http://i35.tinypic.com/10ogxtx.jpg I don't know what they call them but they could work if you use longer ones and make a clip. I got mine from a con but I heard you have to specially import the materal and I forget what its called. As for fabric to use I'm kinda stumped on that too /hmm I usually try to use whatever works witout even considering the choice of fabric /swt |

Here are some better reference pictures if you need them:

And if you're stumped on the hat, they sell small black top hats made of felt at Hobby Lobby. They're in the doll making aisle. You can cover them with the color fabric you need. They're only $1.99 each. I use them a lot. ![]() |

@xthet3mprakage† :: We're actually planning to make these outfits as much from scratch as possible, but that you very much for the idea X3
@fujyoshi :: I've been trying to find a friend for a while who would be willing to help me make one of these outfits, and no one did because they were clowns haha In fact, the friend that's doing this with me is, but she's going to suffer through because the outfits really are awesome. Best of luck if you ever do anything with these outfits. I'm sure they'll turn out great [send pictures!] Ah, cyberlocks [I think that's what they're called, don't quote me on it haha] would be a great way to go. Only, I'll find a way to do that with just fabric... hmm... thanks though [goes off to find a cyberlock tutorial] @boushi_onna :: You... you're my HERO. I've never been able to find high quality scans of those, but they really help! I think I have a good handle on what kind of fabrics to use now [well, the texture, at least haha] and they helped a lot with all kinds of little details X3 As far as the hat, I'm going to look into what you said. Unfortunately, the closest Hobby Lobby is about 50 miles from me, but that would probably turn out better than my friend and I making them haha Thank you all again!

http://livejournal.com/community/jrock_scans I would be sure to call before you went out there then! I'm sure you know that though. haha If you have trouble finding them, I could pick some up for you if you provided the money. If you're wondering what they look like I have one right now I can take a picture of. Just let me know if you want to see it. Good luck! |
