Back in high school I did Eilonwy from the Prydain series and Bard the Bowman from The Hobbit (not an obscure book I know, but kind of an obscure character) for a costume party and a school project respectively. Unfortunately, or maybe not so unfortunately lol, I don't have pictures of either.
Other than that, I have been dying (...no pun intended) to do Sabriel or Lirael from the Abhorsen series. Almost leaning more towards Lirael now that I have an adorable black lab, haha. I'm also hoping to do a proper version of Eilonwy some day soon, and I would love to cosplay from one of Tamora Pierce's Tortall books. Kinda hoping I can rope my sister into joining me in that one. ;D Gosh, I would love to see a Redwall fursuit at a convention. I have a major soft spot for those books.

Oh yeah! Arrows of the Queen introduced me to the world of Valdemar back in high school- I read every Mercedes Lackey book at the base library that summer! I'd love to cosplay Talia.

When I'm old, I'm totally cosplaying as Strega Nona. Magic pasta pot and everything.
![]() I'd love to cosplay as Lady Amalthea from The Last Unicorn. Or Schmendrick the Magician. ![]() I'd also love to cosplay as Raistlin Majere from Dragonlance (not so obscure, really, but still pretty cool.) Mary Poppins would be cool. And Garth Nix's Lirael (in her Librarian outfit) would be just fucking amazing.

I cosplayed as Josephina Montoya from the American Girl Collection. Does that count even though they're children's books?

I'm reconsidering giving up on my Nicolas de Lenfent costume now that my mom will be helping me. Though, I'm worried that I'll be mistaken for Louis especially if I have a Lestat with me. A violin would be the obvious solution, but I doubt my dad will let me borrow the the really old broken one in the basement. Guess I'll just have to use it for photoshoots if I ever get to do one.
----- Also, I would love to see three people do Tyler, Marla, and the Narrator from Fight Club. That would make my life.

People loved that costume because it was well constructed and original rather recognizable--which means a lot more to me. I even got an award at MomoCon. I didn't get stopped for photos as often as I have for other costumes, but that was a welcome change. I've been a walking photoshoot before, and while it can be fun, I also find it very draining.

I always thought it would be fun to cosplay as Truman Capote and Harper Lee, since my best guy friend and I look a lot like them. We could walk around with copies of their books.
![]() God, I have so many ideas in this thread.

For a costume that's of an 18th century man that has no pockets, what would be a good way to keep my stuff? I'll have to think on this more.
But anyway, I got my Nicolas shirt over the weekend and I'm still torn on how to wear the pants....

About to finish up a Dark Tower cosplay. Just posted a thread the other day actually...fairly popular book, but I'm not sure how much recognition it's going to garner.

I cosplayed as Death from The Sandman once. Only a few people knew who I was though. I still need an ankh necklace >.<
