I very much so want to cosplay as the Gymleader Erika from Pokemon, but i'm sooo confused as to how to even start her costume. She wears a kimono, but i don't want to attempt it and mess it all up and end up insulting someone because I made a kimono all wrong. I've found patterns for kimonos that are all one color, but Erika's is one color up top, and another on the bottom. Is it two pieces? or Is it sewn together? Does anyone have any idea??
This is what it looks like (: http://media.animevice.com/uploads/0...3_1__large.jpg |

that's two pieces. she has a pale yellow kimono under that and the skirt on top is separate. though the "skirt" might actually be hakama pants. they look like skirts most of the time since theyre so big and all.

it's three parts: the kimono part, the juban (like a kimono underneath the top layer), and the hakama (big billowy pleated pants like tsutaya mentioned).
