RE5: Albert Wesker

I have run into a large dilemna.
The pattern on Wesker's coat is a good 3/8" racing check, and I assume it's the conventional black and white, dulled, due to the way the light shines.

It does look a lot like Carbon Fiber, and I would go for it - If it weren't a good $57 per 50" or so.
I've been looking for racing check pleather or vinyl, and just when I think i've got it the checks are always 1" each. Hence, my dilemna. I've checked the sites listed here, and I've googled it a hundred different ways. I even tried Amazon and eBay, theeen I asked a commissioner who wouldn't tell me what she used because, I assume, she thought I was going to steal her work.

Any help is tremendously appreciated.
