America from hetalia

This is my cosplay!

I did not make the coat and it is made of pleather.
I want to put a white 50 on the back but not sure what to do

What are your suggestions?

I also can't decide either to wear boots that are high and have white fur on them like the small chibi or the shoes like this OFFICIAL picture:

http://hetalia.com/character/usa.htm

I CAN NOT DECIDE.

For the 50, I'd say get those iron-on sheets you print images on for t-shirts and cut out a large 50. I think that should be fine for pleather, but ask first just to make sure *tried out an completely different way for mine*

And the shoes your wearing in your pic look fine. The boots are optional, since those were part of his earlier design.

DO NOT try to iron anything onto pleather. It will melt.

Paint for numbering might work. I cant say for certain without knowing what it's actually meant to look like.

^ What CezzaXV says - Pleather and an iron just create a sticky mess everywhere if you keep the heat on too long. Your jacket and iron would be toast.

The boots you have in the picture look fine. You look great as the full-sized Alfred, so they look perfect as-is anyway

Paint should definitely work for the numbering. I generally swear by Testor's model paint - that stuff has worked on EVERYTHING. I reckon you should find a scrap piece of pleather first and try it out, just to make sure nothing goes wrong though - it would be a shame to destroy the jacket.

Actually, you can iron onto pleather so long as you use a bit of fabric between the jacket and the iron and you make sure not to leave it on too long. As in, check it every couple of seconds. I'm pretty sure that if you do end up ironing on the 50, you'll have to applique the edges so it stays on. I used iron-on sheets for mine and by the end of the day it had started to peel off. So, yeah, unless you want to applique it, your best bet is probably the painting method.

If you do want to applique, here are a couple of tutorials;

As for the boots, it's really a preference thing. For mine, I used the design with the pants tucked into the shoes because I like how it looks. The design you've gone with seems to lend an air of proffesionalism, though. =)

Also, you make a totally cute America.
