Vocaloid - Len

I'm planning on cosplaying as Len in May, and last night one of my friends pointed out that despite being a male character, he's more frequently cosplayed by girls.

It's unnerved me a bit - I'm a tad worried that I'll go to the Expo in London and find that I'm the only guy cosplaying Len, and I'm considering scrapping it and going with a different costume.

How do you guys feel about characters being cosplayed by the opposite gender more often than they're cosplayed by their own gender?

(This thread is not a shot at crossplayers, I don't have a problem with 'em)

Cosplay is a female-dominated hobby. In Japan, it's almost exclusively women who are into it. Among them, more women crossplay men than dress as female characters. This may be throwing the odds off a bit. I have seen male Lens though... even in Japan. There's even one on NicoNico who posts mediocre dance videos (though he's getting better, recently ~ go boy-Len! go!).

Generally speaking, women tend to make better little boys than men... they're smoother, slighter and prettier. Women have been playing young boys in the theater for centuries, and Len is voiced by a woman... like pretty much all of the other young boys in anime and games.

If you want to go for it ~ go for it. Your gender shouldn't deter you. People might even be MORE impressed that you're "accurate" down to the dangly bits.

But if you're still that worried about it ~ go for Kaito instead.

I'm male, and I cosplay Len~ Don't get worried because it's frequently cosplay by females, hell the majority of cosplayers are females. There needs to be more guys cosplaying!! By the way, if you manage to pull of Len well, beware of fangirls and their strong glomps XD

I'm trying to get my brother to cosplay as len, with me as rin. I know he could pull it off really well, but he still won't give me a firm answer. I already said if he does it we should both do the Miku's 39's Givings day live concert performance dance of Butterfly on your right shoulder for a skit. Does anybody know any good ways to convince him? I know I'm pretty close, he already said he thought Len's outfit was cool when we watched the concert, and I already converted him to a Vocaloid fan. Well anyway, any help would be appreciated.
