can't make it for the JASA event, but i can make it for the meetup. so, to clarify, the meetup will be by the smithsonian metro station at 2 pm? and are there any definite plans to meet earlier to see the Souran Bushi dance?

I think it would be a cool idea to watch the performance! We could try to bump the meeting time to 1. The performance is supposed to be at 2:15 right?

Also have you all been hearing anything about the event being canceled if the government shuts down?

Yeah... I really wanted to celebrate. But I mean it does make sense... but man... I seriously hope they get everything worked out (I mean obviously not just because I want to attend a festival lol ><) but yeah... during a crisis like what Japan is going through a festival like this would be great for morale and to let the Japanese people know they are in our thoughts.

Looks like the event will go on as planned so SWEET. Because I fought real hard to be able to take off for that weekend. (ok so not really but I super wanted to go lol) Looking forward to meeting up and seeing everyone there.

@delly I haven't heard about a con this weekend =(
