LAYERS Translation Index

電撃レイヤーズ(Dengeki LAYERS) is a cosplay magazine published by ASCII Media Works Japan. Each issue comes packaged with awesome patterns that can't properly be replicated here (due to size issues) and is full of awesome full-color cosplayer shots that I'm not going to reproduce because they require no translation. This isn't meant to be a replacement for the magazine so much as a companion to it. If you can, by all means, buy your own copies.

I only buy LAYERS regularly but once in awhile I end up with copies of other publications. To avoid making another thread for those translations, useful articles from other magazines (cosmode, cosbon, cos-a) are also included here. These articles will have the publication name and issue number posted at the end of corresponding articles.

www.amazon.co.jp sells all of these magazines and ships overseas at-cost.

If you're looking for backissues or specific magazines unavailable on amazon, drop me a pm and I can try to help you out.

All shops and products referenced in these articles are available in Japan. I can't tell you where to get them overseas because I'm afraid I don't live there ^^;;

All translations are unpaid and under the influence of coffee and altruism. They may be riddled with errors. Trust me at your own risk.

Use "find" (Ctrl-f) to search the index for relevant terms.

Requesting Translations: If you can provide a clear scan of a tutorial you'd like translated ~ I'd be glad to include it here.

Donations: The images in this thread go down when my allottment of free bandwidth has been used up for any given month. If you'd like to contribute to keeping the images included in this thread up all the time, you can make a donation toward paying for a photobucket upgrade. The cost of magazines already comes out of my own pockets ~ I'm afraid I can't afford to let the image hosting do the same T.T

Photobucket Pro (1 year): $24.95
Current Donations: $0.00

Thanks for translating all of them! There's a lot of good advice here (I think cons would benefit from having an etiquette guide even if they are different from Japanese events).

No worries. Translating is fun... as long as you aren't held accountable for accuracy :3

A few image-dump sites seem to be linking directly to images in my photobucket album, leeching my already limited bandwidth. If I exceed bandwidth for the month, images won't work for any of us. If you really want my crappy scans that badly: you're more than welcome to them. Just PLEASE rehost the images in your own albums or on your own webspace. Don't direct link!!

Starting to walk the bandwidth line. This thread is going to crash by the end of every month if it keeps getting so many outside hits :/

I need to remake this thread with more space allotted for the index... but for the time being, I'm going to work with it a bit right here. The more I have to throw up in the framework, the better idea I'll have of the space I need.

Still looking for a benefactor to upgrade the photobucket account ^^; If you're willing to help, give me a buzz.
