Circle Lenses + Prescribed?

Hello fellow cosplayers. I've been looking into buying a pair of lenses for my Hina Ichigo cosplay in a couple months. I need prescribed contacts, so I've been looking around for some. Sure, i've found tons. But they've all seemed to be in the negatives? My prescription is +3.50, and I can only find -3.50. Is there something I'm missing out on? It would be great if someone could link me to something that could be helpful! Thank you!

If you're only farsighted, I think you can buy circle lenses in plano. You probably won't need to see things too close up while at a convention. Myopia (nearsightedness) is the most common reason for people under 40 to see the eye doctor, so I guess that's why all the circle lenses only have negative prescriptions.

Eh... I have never seen a positive before. I don't think they exist for contacts... Either you're mixing them up (and you're actually a -3.50 for contacts, because I know we usually say we're 350 degrees, not that we're -3.50) or you're not nearsighted... (are you far sighted...?)

You can always ask your optometrist what contacts you should get. Generally you need to get your contacts measurements from them anyway, because wearing contacts without optometrist approval puts you at risk of eye damage.

KuraKaze, positive diopter contact lenses do, in fact, exist. (Er, and the "degrees" part has nothing to do with the diopter. You're thinking the axis part of a prescription.) In non-costume contacts, I've seen up to +6.00 diopter lenses (just from 1800contacts.com). The problem is that Geo Medical, the major manufacturer of the anime-style Magic Color "circle lens", only offers their lenses in negative diopter. I haven't found another manufacturer that does anything like the Magic Color lens, unfortunately.

Thanks for everyones help! I'm 100% positive I am +3.50. Do you think it would make a huge difference if I did get negatives? I have a copy of my prescription beside me right here, and it does in fact say -. I'm thinking to wait it out until I go to my Optometrist and ask him personally about it, but I'm getting really anxious about my costume and time is ticking! Thanks for everyones help, I just thought it was odd that I couldn't find any!

Yes, it will make a huge difference if you get -3.50 instead of +3.50. Negative is for near sighted people to see farther, so that will just make your vision worse. The +/- tells how much the lens is curved, and in what direction (+ one way, - the other).
Here's a basic picture example:
( eye - negative lenses
)( eye - positive lenses
Most likely the reason you can't find + colored lenses is because it's harder to make colored lenses in a )( shape.

So... does that mean positive numbers are for far sighted?

I learn something new everyday. I didn't know they existed XD I have never seen them before, but that makes sense, since I wear MAGIC circle lens and they don't come in positive.

If you don't mind the blurry could always go for cosmetic lens at 0.

I would think that positive isn't offered because there's not as big a market for them. (Same reason that coloured contacts only come in the average 14.5 and 8.5 or something and not offered in a wide range like clear prescription contacts are.

You could ask any optometrist or glasses store if they can order coloured contacts with positive numbers (I don't think they would backstock positives... negatives are much more popular.)

I have no idea if circle lens exist in positives...

PS: -3.50 translates into 350 degrees near sighted doesn't it..? That's why I mentioned the degrees.
